All you people pissed off about the song she sang, shut up!! She is a legend and i was just glad to see her on tv. And plus that song sounded great with the live orchestra.
REALLY??? Fancy??? To celebrate the independence of our nation?? Very disappointing that it was allowed on the program. I love her as an artist, but singing fancy was deplorable, tacky and in all around bad taste!!
@RainbowReba I never said she couldn't. I just said it was inappropriate for that forum...but I"m ever so grateful for this video so I could share all my thoughts and feelings with facebook. ;) TACKY, that's what it was....tacky.
@adesomer I respect your opinion and understand what you mean but if you would let me say this. (Again, no disrespect meant) Maybe this was the right song to sing. Afterall, when this nation started, we didn't have much, we were poor and believe it or not this was the way of life for many. The song symbolizes growth and going from poor to rich through determination and never backing down which is the biography of this country!...plus the fact this is Reba's signature song!
@CountryCollection87 Thank you so much for the intelligent and respectful way you replied. I appreciate that very much.
I see from where you are coming...but I think there are a great many songs that would share that very sentiment much better than a song about a mother whoring out her daughter. I don't mind it being sung at any other time...but I think it just wasn't an appropriate venue...we are being watched by other nations, and closely. Is this what we want to share??
@adesomer I think it's extremely likely that Reba was asked to sing a couple of songs from her catalog in recognition of the award she was getting. Naturally, she chose her biggest chart hit (Consider Me Gone) and signature song (Fancy). If you look around, you will find that there is a second part to this in which she leads the crowd in singing America The Beautiful and God Bless America as the fireworks start. Perhaps you should do your homework before popping off.
@dreamregent Oh you poor dear...I watched the entire thing...silly fool. Indeed my homework was done. Attack all you like...and perhaps you think it's just a lovely song to sing for your nations birthday...I for one found it tacky....very tacky. I don't want to hear about any mother whoring out her daughter to be living better...sorry...but I'm into preserving my children's chastity. So perhaps, you shouldn't assume I only saw it on youtube.
@adesomer This particular moment in the program was meant to celebrate Reba's career as much as it was to segue into the fireworks. Naturally, she was asked to sing a couple of her songs. Frankly, I don't know what other song would be more appropriate to sing in recognition of her musical career. Fancy is definitely what you would term her "career" song. As such, it was most appropriate and it was silly of you to say otherwise.
@dreamregent I agree with everything you just said to @adesomer "Fancy" is most definitely titled her 'career' song. She's said so herself. Nice way to explain everything!
REBA was amazing! She nailed Fancy as usually that performace was just Fabulous! I am so glad she recieved that award and I can't think of anyone more deserving. Reba is truely lives up to her name of the Queen of Country Music! :)
Thankyou so very much for this. Shame Reba had to shorten her songs but wonderful just the same. I love how she got all choked up getting the award. Classy Lady.
I've seen her in concert several times and she is great!

I can't think of anyone who deserved this award more than Reba!!! In my opinion, this award is much more prestigious than any ACM or CMA.
