  • RIP Bruce. Love you boys.

  • That drummer is really cool.

  • this song is magic :-)

  • Solid stuff. Me like.

  • Me too! I was at the U of M then, and spent weekends at all the local bars checking out the terrific bands like the 'burbs and more! What a walk down memory lane. Thank you for posting this!

  • Straight form my hood, what you know

  • this song on bass is so awsome

  • Chan Poling taught me how to write music.

His new band, the New Standards, is awesome.

  • yeha. have u heard their new cd rock and roll? its too amazing. ive met each of them

  • yeah, it's pretty good.

i was the one who turned steve onto the velvet underground

and suggested that they cover one of their songs.

  • i want them to record again.....still waiting.

  • Classic Minneapolis band. The music is a little dated but man did I love it back then. Someone mentioned Duffy's Saw Iggy Pop there and when I wanted heavy medal went to Mr Nibs.

    Anyone remember Nibs?

  • Yeah! The outdoor music fests! So fun I had to see them more then once. Thanks.

  • Oh the memories!

    Duffy's on 27th in Minneapolis, 1982

    Anyone have a Time Machine??

    No??

Well youtube will have to do

  • buy "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Suburbs Have Left The Building". Excellent collection of their best 19 songs.

  • I agree.

  • This band is sick live. I got kicked out of a bar in Sioux Falls SD slam dancing to them 25 years ago. There music is still relevent today. More Punk than New Wave. This band is HARD.

  • Oh if only the kids of today were old enough to enjoy this band, and the bands of the 80's. The shit today is just that SHIT!

  • dude I'm 11 and these guys are my fav band.

  • My daughter is 11 as well and like you loves this band! As does my 7 year old, but then again I take away their IPODS and make them listen to them and the Replacements and Ramones, Glad you as well like it. Where did you learn of this great band, I am old enough to admit I seen them live about 10 or so times. Glad you have the chance to enjoy them as I did in my youth.

  • Good that they're listening to 'em but you should also let them listen to music they find themselves, hahaha.

  • Love the 'burbs!!

  • I fucking love this song and my band is gonna cover it.

  • hey guys, does anyone know where I can get a copy of their Dream Hog ep?

  • Well, at any Cheapo in the Twin Cities there's about 10 used copies in every Suburbs section...

  • the 'Burbs played the famous Longhorn bar in Minneapolis in the latter '70's, and rocked like you would not believe... it was near riotous when Beej climbed up the rafters or whatever he could find.

    Great times!

  • Looking for a good copy of the Suburbs performing Music For Boys. Anyone?

  • Did they make a video for that song?

  • Not as far as I know, but since I posted that comment someone posted a decent live version. ;)

  • Where can I find this that is f'n GREAT song!

  • Check my videos if you haven't yet.

  • Lived and breathed these guys during my college daze in MN... yeah they coulda' and shoulda'. Perhaps Beej shoulda laid off the acid a little. :)

  • Fawesome!

  • Oh the good ol days...Hung out with Beej and the gang a few times. Chad from Eau Claire

  • Still one of my favorite bands!!!

  • Saw this band quite a bit in Madison, WI circa 1980-82. Totally underrated! They are the ones that shoulda, coulda, etc.

  • I loved this band when I lived in Minneapolis. They really rocked.

  • ive seen this band a few times they do fucking rock lol cool as hell

  • Brilliant.

  • I love this song. I love The Suburbs.

  • FUCKING RIGHT!
