@2009YFZR "upping?" That's called refined technology. When you can make 7 liters, get 25 mpg, 500 horsepower and STILL not need a supercharger. I think that's pretty damn impressive. Not to mention the "old" 2000's 5.3 liter Vortec engines put out 325 hp and made 25 mpg.

So at the end of the day to answer your simple question. Because they can. Get this-they can STILL add a supercharger on their engines as well. Wonderful thing isnt it?

It is 1 7/8 Headers-Borla Long tubes, LOL It is only that loud over 2500 RPM, so I keep it low in quiet areas.

I have Kooks longtube headers on my Shelby GT with a kooks Catted X-pipe and KR Mufflers. I can imagine how loud that thing must be especially with the offroad x-pipe. Did you do the 1 3/4" headers or the 1 7/8"? If you did the 1 7/8" I would definitely assume your neighbors HATE you haha.
