If you compare part for part in a prebuilt machine from Dell or HP, Macs are not 3x more expensive. In fact, sometimes it's cheaper. There are many ways to run Windows SW and Linux SW in a Mac - even simultaneously when using VM. That should make an average Intel Mac able to run more SW than a standard Windows PC.

I think the point is, and this is just my take, that by making an ad that seems to be advertising for nothing, people are likely to pay more attention to what's going on. This doesn't feel like a regular ad, so it has created buzz, and everyone will pay more attention to future ads with these two in them, which will likely be more clear. Just my take.
