want the real scoop? D700 is great in low light, it's still slower than a D3. It great to use with lens that you used to use with your 35mm SLR. Off brand No-D type lens don't work so well sometimes(giving false reading of F stops, like f1!! on my wide Tokina zoom)

Old Nikon flash won't work either, even on manual settings, it'll get throw off.

So bottom line is you'll end up geting the D-SLR, Flash unit, and maybe evn upgrade your old lens. You've been warned!
