I second that. Pretty awesome guitar player, but he seemed stoned a lot of the times when he was playing. Though I do think Michael Angelo Batio turned his "purple haze" solo into an even better sound with his double guitars. Either way, Hendrix was pretty good with improvisation and playing. He just (like so many...including the infamous 'Slash') couldn't seem to play a show without being stoned and/or drunk.
