  • Absolutely Beautiful !!!

  • Very pretty lyrics...

  • I'm watching a great statler brothers video. I don't think i care about big sean......

  • homi feio da boba

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard country chart for 1 week in March 1985

  • can someone post the song by statler brothers "oh Elizabeth", i love that song but can not find it.

  • fabuloso!!!

  • Is there anyway to find the Christmas Song it was like " My Only Love".. It was

a video and it showed each of the four trimming a Christmas tree and thinking

about the one that got away...or something like that.. It was a beautiful song

and a beautiful video.. should have been the video of the year. I am not sure if

Christmas that I don't think of you is the one. it was split into the four each

and I listened to the words and I really do not think it was that song.the title

    sounds likeit

  • The Statlers & The Oak Ridge Boys were the best in the west when it came to very special music like this. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.

  • such a beautiful song . it makes me want to cry . because thats the way i feel about my man.

  • I hate it when Vevo put a ad of that attention seeking whore britney spears at the bottom of the vid

  • Rest of the story, My wife was hurt alot by the business, but so was I. In the70 s and early 80 s, it was about the image. That is what sold. Go along or go bye bye. We both agreed to go along. Yes, I lived a whore' s world. We all do. You do what you do and take the crap that ypu take for MONEY. Am I different than you? I think not. You judged me without knowing me. Shame on you. But my Ludicrous carreer bought us a home in Atlanta, put both children through College, 3 Grandchildren through.

  • @starr522 I really don't care about all this horseshit justification. I just don't like people who use other people and then justify it with every excuse in the world. You'll get worse than what I gave you. What goes around comes around.

  • this is the song I requested for my husband 23 years ago and here we are 23 years later still just as happy as we were then We have had our ups and downs over the years but we've made it Sherri and Bob T . I.Love u with all y heart sweetie and always will and we will face any battle we may have in the future THANKS BOB FOR BEING THERE FOR ME WHEN I WAS IN A WHEEL CHAIR// YOU ARE MY ONLY LOVE .....AND WILL AWAYS BE

  • While yes, I have lusted after others. My wife of 47 years has and is the love of my life. My best friend and lover of secrets. I entertained and traveled most of our married life. She didn t sign up for it but went along with it. She left the gate open, the dog always came home. She allowed me to be who and what the public expected. But she always knew, it was her that I truly loved. Entertaining is tough. Loving is tough. Forgiving is tougher. Forgetting is imposible.

  • @starr522 BS

  • @meddetect10 Sad that you don t understand what an only love is. And it sure isn t BS

  • @starr522 I understand exactly what an only love is. I've been married to the same man for the last 15 years! BS that I'm referring to is your nonchalant excuses for CHEATING! If you truly love someone, you wouldn't think of cheating on them and "lusting after others." They would be your ONLY ONE and you don't stray-NO EXCUSE FOR HURTING YOUR ONLY LOVE. Your trying to justify cheating because of your career is ludicrous! You may think she went along with it, but I would bet it HURT her!

  • @meddetect10 Now, I have read and reread your response, before I replied. I also re read my post. We have a problem in communication. Please point out to me in my post where I said that I actually cheated on my wife. Yes I lusting after others. Human. Ladies all around. Didn t say it didn t hurt her. I was gone for weeks on end. Parties galore. Women galore. But did I cheat. You assumed that I did. You must feel inferior or you wouldn t think that. Truth is, tempted, but no I didn t.

  • @meddetect10 school. Wrapping up Tired of defending to a moral judge. I would invite you to our home in Nassau for dinner, but you d refuse because the devil payed for it. My wife is with me because she did understand the business, althought she hated it. We are together because of our love, nothing else. And I do resent. your ill advised comments. You have the problem I don t.

  • This is such a beautiful song and video yet at the same time it is a sad reminder that I have yet to find the woman of my dreams and feel so alone and unwanted. Am almost 50 yrs old and fear that I will never find love

To those who read my words here,if you have a special someone in your life now, never ever take them for granted and tell them every day that you love them for you all have something I can only dream about

  • don't start a pissing contest in a great place amongst Statler fans. i know why they beat the Beatles, THEY DON'T SUCK! I'll always love flowers on the wall by the way, but the Statlers didn't lose any momentum with Jimmy

  • One of the best Thanks....RW

  • Does anyone know if Don & Harold (getting married, in the video) are married

to sisters ??....there seems to be quite a bit of facial resemblance between

them. Sure wish we could all go back to the 60's and start over again, the

world just doesn't seem right without them...and looking forward to new songs from them...and even better, to see & hear them...live. They were, and always will be, The Greatest Country/&Gospel quartet to ever set foot on stage in the world...in many ways.

  • i've now listened to this about 15 times and have decided i have to sing it at somebody's wedding. my brothers can sing alright, maybe we can get together. sure would be magical. what a fantastic song, i can't hear it enough. beautiful.

  • this is what makes me jealous of those older than i, great music such as this. thankfully i can still hear it and dream of days past, before i was born, when the world was a better place.

  • the is one of the greatest groups of all ttime

  • my mom and dads wedding song. its a beautiful song.

  • I sang this to my lovely bride during our wedding in December, 1990. It was one of

many I considered, however after much prayerful consideratoin, I decided on this one

and even though the second verse was difficult since it was not as well known, my

accompanist perservered and I learned it well enough to sing it and I might add,

all the ladies in the church wept because it was such a beautiful song.

  • 26 Years ago this was our wedding song! I walked down the aisle to this song and every time my hubby and I hear it we cry and dance as if we've just been married. Thank you so very much for putting this on the web for us.

  • love the song but the video is pretty goofy hahaha

  • they said Elizabeth was written about Elizabeth Taylor

  • @mattea68 - I thought Jimmy wrote My Only Love for his sister's wedding. Elizabeth talks about missing her.

  • Josh and Rachel are getting married Sunday!!

  • Yeah triple threats have nothing on people like the Statler Brothers!!! They had real talent something very few singers, actors or any other preformers can claim now. They may not have acted well in their videos but why did they need to?? Just close your eyes and imagine your only love!!!

  • are the ladies in the video there real wives.

  • @SIGNALSTAT I was wondering the same thing but can find no information confirming this

  • @SIGNALSTAT Yes, they ladies are Harold, Don, Phil and Jimmy's real wives.

  • @TuQueridaAhora ok thanks for the info very nice video and one of my favorite statler songs.

  • really miss these guys in concert. hard to beleive that is gone from my life. non better.

  • They don't make them like that any more...

  • Three days before our 16th anniversary, I “lost” my wife to a brain injury. That was 16 years ago. Now, 32 years into marriage, I’m a married widower. Cherish your only love today – you never know how things will be tomorrow.

  • @fpoasec Sorry to hear of your loss........but, you've said it very succinctly....I certainly couldn't have said it any better in regards to "Cherishing your Only love Today". Well said.

  • Okay -- am I crazy, or does the bridesmaid who is also Phil Balsely's girlfriend bear a resemblance to a younger (and **THINNER**) Wynonna Judd?

  • My only love and I will have been together 16 years this January 7th. Even though I know she'll probably NEVER read this, she will forever be MY ONLY LOVE. I love you, Michelle.

  • What a sweet beautiful song. I love this video. The Statlers are fantastic as always. The bridal gown and veil are fabulous - they make this pretty gal even lovelier. I think all of the strapless gowns these days have no style - they look too much alike. This song is perfect for any wedding, anniversary or other very special occasion. These words are ones that sweethearts should say to each other. Thank you for posting. - Paula

  • This is a great song, as were pretty much all the Statlers' releases. But I wonder if anyone else remembers one they did called "Monday Morning Secretary" -- I haven't been able to locate it, and nearly all of my old vinyl, which included records of my parents' and grandparents', as well as mine and my husband's, was lost during a move a decade ago; so I haven't been able to hear this song in quite some time. Does anyone have it available?

  • @NadaTall I have that song on a LP by the Statler Brothers. I don't post music on Youtube but when i check it out in the next day or so, I'll let you have some details on the recors it's on. Greetings from Newfoundland, Canada,

  • I love this song....My sister in law sang it at our wedding...just before I walked down the aisle....

  • You are truly My Only Love ! I love you so much more today than the day I sung this to you at our wedding. You are an amazingly wonderful husband and I love you now and forever !

  • How beautiful, how amazing and how fitting as I enter the chapter of my life were the amazing man I am with at this moment is MY ONLY LOVE.

  • Unusual for a Statlers song, Jimmy Fortune sang the verses, but Don Reid sang lead on the choruses. Hit #1 in Billboard, 3-9-85. God bless y'all, Statlers!

  • Love this song , My husband & I had it played at our wedding. So beautiful

  • I understand that Woody Robertson [ formerly one of the Statlers managers] is now in the movies..... somone told me he was in the Clint Eastwood film "Gran Tourino" in 2008. Anyone remember, he also designed a few album jackets ????

  • the woman jimmys with is pretty

  • I played this at my wedding reception our 1st dance.

  • They made many hits with Jimmy, they made many hits with Lew,doesnt really matter to me.What matters is that these men have been unparalleled as singers and showmen. They always gave their audiences 100%.By the way,if anyone who reads this knows any of The Statlers, please tell them that this Vietnam Vet appreciates "More Than A Name on the Wall" more than I could ever put into words.God Bless you all for that wonderful, meaningful song.

  • as much as I like the Statler Bros. I don't buy Harold acting seriously.

  • the guy getting married doesn't look happy

  • Lew was a wonderful tenor, he had the ability to blend so well with Don and the others. alot of people don't know but it was Lew himself who chose Jimmy to be his replacement when his illness got so that he had to leave the group. May you rest in peace Lew, you made a great choice.

  • wonderful video and song. I wished the Statler Brothers could do another concert.

  • To the Jimmy versus Lew folks. There is a reason there are FIVE Statler Brothers in the Hall of Fame.

  • to whoever posted this...Can you get "What we love to Do" by the Statler Brothers?

  • love this song1

  • If I ever find a woman insane enough to marry a man like me, I;d have this song played as the first husband and wife dance.

  • I love this vidio, and I realy loved Lew, but Harold is still my favorite. I love his sense of humor.

  • This is as good as it gets. Nashville doesn't have anything like this now since they "committed murder on music row".

  • Not sure about Atlanta Blue..... but Definately JIMMY FORTUNE or as Me and My Mother have always called him "Little Jimmy" we Think he is the Bees Knees and the Cats Meow!!!!! and he does have a MUCH Better voice but just a little Trivia for ya..... did you know it was Lew DeWitt that Discovered Jimmy in I think a Ski Lodge..... yes he found his very own replacement!!!!! he couldn't have made a better choice!!!!! WE LOVE YOU JIMMY!!!!!

  • Jimmy wrote the song ELIZABETH for his sisters wedding, The Statlers were one of the greatest country music groups out there. True to their Fans and their faith. I have to say between Jimmy and Lew I liked Lew better, his voice just had something Jimmy couldnt duplicate RIP Lew

  • Comment removed

  • @Mattea68 jimmy was/is a better talent then lew was. Lew couldnt write like Jimmy

  • @hornyallthetimenate Actually, Lew wrote many of their best, older songs - including their first big hit, "Flowers on the Wall". Did you know they beat the Beatles for the Grammy with "Flowers on the Wall"?

  • @Mattea68 actually it was for his brother Tony's wedding

  • @Mattea68 - Too each his own. Lew was great, but I always liked Jimmy better. Lew often sounded strained hitting his high notes, and they just seemed to flow from Jimmy.

  • @mikefretz i agree...jimmy voice is so much more pure and clean...lew my man RIP you were great also..but jimmy didnt replace you he just filled in and did a great job as you would have wanted him to do...

  • @Mattea68 Actually he wrote it after watching an Elizabeth Taylor movie on the bus...it's in Harold's and Don's book Random Memories

  • @Mattea68 it's true that he couldn't 'duplicate" Lews sound,, but he created his own "statlerized" sound,.. the Statlers never lost a step... they were great with both Lew and Jimmy

  • I got two questions for my fellow Statler fans. First, who do you like bettter-Jimmy Fortune or Lew DeWiltt? Second-Why Isn't Atlanta Blue on CD?

  • @herbertkearse Jimmy is great, but Lew was our favorite. His voice was unique, no tenor sounded like him. Jimmy was a great replacement, especially because Lew was able to choose him as his replacement. Jimmy contributed alot for the group and wrote many great songs. But Lew was still the best tenor ever.

  • "Atlanta Blue" is available on the 3 disc set "30 Years of the Statler Brothers" something like that. The only song not on that collection that bums me out is their version of "Only You."

  • Herbertkearse: Atlanta Blue is on the " Statlers" 30th anniversary celebration C.D.. set. Good luck.

  • This never fails to stun me with its beauty...sigh

  • This song was played at my wedding 24 years ago. I still cherish the memories of that day and our love has only grown stronger over the years.

  • The Statlers sure made it hard to pick just one favorite - but this one is so beautiful and has a special meaning to me.

  • One of the most amazing songs I have heard in quite sometime. The words are so meaningful.
