Tick "Play a MIDI file". On the window which appears, click Browse to choose the MIDI file, then use the controls under "Playback controls" to control the MIDI file playback.

The MIDI file functionality is separate from the main window (which is for editing BMM files).

There's an option on the program to make the beep sound using your soundcard (speakers) like normal (the option's called "Use FMOD to create the beep").

Also in the latest version you can tell it to use MIDI Out so it can play as piano notes on the default Windows synth (the actual device which it uses can be chosen).

Yes - I have actually, but only very recently for some reason (within the last few days). I'm very new to NicoVideo though, and not fluent in Japanese, which makes it hard to know what I'm doing. I will still give it a shot though some time soon.

I've done it now. My name on there is WhyAgain - because I was wondering why I had to register again at the time, but I think it was my Internet conneciton failing (nothing new there).

I've learnt a lesson the hard way not to get used to YouTube's automatic de-interlacing of video. The thing looks an absolute mess on NicoVideo (although it's stereo =D). I'll have to remember to de-interlace myself now before I upload unless I want it to look like some recovered surveillance footage... &gt;&lt;

By the way, perhaps in a later version, I want to make it possible for you to record (FMOD's) audio in a more easy way than recording your soundcard's own output. Also, to make FMOD sound like something apart from just a square wave.

Hmm? By default it creates its beeps through the internal system speaker (the thing which beeps at the BIOS). You can tick a box to use a sound system called FMOD, which makes sound like most Windows programs do - through the soundcard, so out of your 'normal' computer speakers.

The system speaker always sounds like a square wave (electronic), but I want to add an option of changing the FMOD sound so it can sound a little different (though still probably electronic ^^;;).

The program in this video is Bleeper Music Maker, a program I've been making for quite some time (months) now. You can download it (it's freeware), check the first link in this video's description. Note that there's a nasty bug at the moment which can make it freeze with just a constant tone coming out of the speaker if there's not enough CPU free. I know why this happens, and I'm on to fixing it. It should be easy to fix, in theory.

The program I used to make the Windows XP/98 sounds music is the open-source (and therefore freely downloadable) program called ModPlug Tracker. You can find it very easily if you just give it a Google search. ;)

I don't think that's possible. The speaker's completely 'digital', in otherwords it's either 'in' or 'out as far as possible', with no way to control exactly how far it moves (how loud it gets).

I started programming from the absolute beginning some time around 2001, maybe before.

But I've only been using Visual Basic for just over a year now (Dec 2006). And only bleeper stuff for 2 months exactly next Thursday. =D

(Had to check the dates some of my files were created... I don't seriously just remember that kind of stuff =P)

Speaking of the sounds of the bleeper, I've also been able to get a fairly decent techno 'beat drum' sound out of it (separate to this program), and I'd love to add it to this, as a feature to have a beat for one of the notes. I think that's needed in the part which starts at 02:08 (as is in the original).
