  • That is a golf swing.

  • That is a SWEET swing!

  • Don't worry about anything if you're banging the ball 300 yards! You've got it!

  • Do a search in youtube for long drive panda

  • what your swing speed? Ave, Max?

  • Average swing speed is around 110 and max speed clocked with my SSR was 136. I think that was a 'phantom reading', but I have recorded numerous 120-125 , so I'd say my true max speed is in the low to mid 120's.

  • Youve got an awesome swing! Here is a tip if you dont mind. in order to get your right arm farther away from your body coming down you must have width in your backswing and start down slow, but great swing!

  • Thank you for you comment. My swing is a work in progress for sure. I've been working on the width you mention. Do you mean my left arm farther away from my body though, since I'm a lefty? It's definitely something that will take some time. I've been doing some drills and exercises to help ingrain this as well. Hope to put up a new video showing improvements soon.

  • You have plenty of width. You can't have more width than your right arm is long. You are there. Great job. However, the Mike Austin swing calls for very little knee flex. Is there a reason you have so much, even though you are going with the Austin method? 1

  • Thanks for the comments about width. Good point! I agree about knee flex. Two reasons for having more knee flex in this video are: (1) It was very windy that day and I needed to "anchor" myself more. Also had a wider stance than normal due to wind. (2) My "nemesis" swing fault is losing my spine angle as I approach impact. By exaggerating the knee flex it helps me maintain my spine angle. I've been trying different things to cure this. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Would you mind sharing the specification of your driver? brand, flex, length, loft, etc. Thanks.

  • In the video, I used a Cleveland Launcher 9*, with Accuflex JLG UltraBoom shaft, S flex. I play with that the most.

I have many left handed drivers that I experiment with, including:

48" Alpha C830.2 Long Drive 6*, Harrison Pro 2.5 shaft, Stiff -Yep a 48" LD club!

SMT Nemesis 10*, Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue, regular

Cobra SpeedProS 9.5*, Fujikura Speeder, stiff (new club which I've yet to hit)

Geek DotComThis 10*, Accuflex VS339, stiff

Krank RHot Chili Pepper 9*, Tourswing Vengeance, stiff

  • Ive got Taylor Made 9.5, thinking of going to higher launch angle for more carry/less spin.

  • I'm not a pro by a long shot, but it seems to me that your right arm is tucked in too much and looks cramped. If you want higher (longer arc) in your swing, you shouldn't squeeze your right arm to your side so tightly. Oops, your a lefty, so in this case, right arm would be your left arm. : ) Please let me know what you think.

  • Appreciate the comments. Achieving a longer arc is actually something I've been working a great deal. Even though I "feel" like that arm is away from my side, it is not. That's why I tape my swing. So I can see "real" versus "feel". I have days where I get better separation of that arm than others, so it's a matter of continued practice to improve this. I do very specific exercises to help with this as well.

  • You have very powerful (and attractive) legs, which should serve you well w/ the compound pivot. I just started MA after trying everything else under the sun.

I do see potential in the MA swing pattern. Keep up the good work!

    regards

  • Appreciate the encouraging words. I do work the legs a lot for power along with my core. Split jump squats with weights work a lot of muscles. I was a sprinter in high school, swam and played tennis. It seems I've always had strong legs. Wish I has discovered golf and this swing years ago. I found that the MA swing is my natural swing, so to speak. It just feels right. I hope it's right for you as well.

  • how high do you tee it up? How far do you hit it?

  • I tee the ball up about average height. I like to use 2 7/ 8 to 3 1/4" tees. Nothing extreme. I do place the ball more forward in my stance versus just inside my front foot. I do this because my swing speed is faster there. I use a swing speed radar and I do accelerate through the ball well, so my speed is faster in front of my forward foot. I average 265-275, but have hit many 300+ yard drives.

  • Thanks! I'll keep 'em coming!

  • nice job! keep'm coming, ur good!
