For those wondering why it hurt landing from that height: you might not be taking into consideration landing on the carbon fiber boom+mast as well as possible broken articulations from feet getting stuck in the foot straps while falling. In other words, the biggest problem with windsurfing accidents is hitting/getting tangled in your own equipment.
