I'd like to know what pope John Paul 11 actually did to deserve being declared for sainthood. I know that someone prayed to him to intercede before God and got "healed". But to be declared a saint in the Catholic religion a person has to be a great person, suffered much, heroic, or a martyr. Plus to declared a saint a person has to be dead a long long time. Why has this changed?
I want to know EXACTLY what he did to be declared as blessed and awaiting sainthood??

In asking the saints to intercede for us, we ratify our belief in the power of prayer and that God’s chosen are enjoying everlasting life in Heaven. You might argue that you don’t need intercessors that have departed this world; I choose to have help from my friends who are in His Holy presence.

The beginning of Genesis is not historic, it is allegoric. The purpose of the text was to explain why sin entered into the world, i.e. through man's disobedience. Not how the universe was created. That would have been impossible for the people to understand back then. Genesis only begins to be historic when Abraham appears.

He was the head of the church and without a doubt the only person who had the power to address the issue from an institutional perspective. He was weak a leader when it mattered most. He needed to act boldly and swiftly yet he did nothing. Now the church has been tained once again and Catholics are leaving droves.
