Your soaring videos are simply the best I have ever seen. I am a fellow sailplane pilot, but embarrassed to say so, because your flying is simply several classes beyond mine...like a different sport. I appreciate both that you let us hear the natural sounds of soaring, and your occasional commentary on your thought processes. Plain and simply, I wouldn't change a thing. Much, much, much appreciated!!
@saildapper2001 You givewaaaaay too much credit! Thanks for the kind words though. It is a blast to fly up there and to share the experience with people all over the world. Thanks so much for taking the time to write and please share some of your own soaring videos too. Would love to see. :) Take care and fly safe. Bruno
@lucserre Great question. This is an ASW-20B which is a flapped glider. At that point my airspeed changed to the point I needed to change to a different cruise flap setting. Many people don't know but racing gliders have negative cruise flaps and not just landing flaps. Thanks for asking. Bruno
@aaf12 Yes, I have a new everything. I got everything ready just in time to film this contest. I am using a Canon HF20 with a fish eye lens. I tried a wide angle and it just wasn't wide enough. I have to zoom in just slightly I found out after this day or you could see the sides of the lens. As for the position, I am using a RAM mount arm on a 1" ball secured just over my right shoulder. Didn't get in the way at all and was rock steady. Thanks for watching - Bruno
@stephenbott Thanks for the comments. Sorry for the annoying noise. I am using an adjustable voltage external battery to power my camera because no standard battery will last the 5+ hours I need for a flight. It provides plenty of power but is creating a TON of electronic noise that my radio is picking up and spitting out static. A fix is in the works. I just purchased an 8 volt 3.4 ah sealed battery that will now run the camera so this horrible noise will go away on future recordings. Bruno
@tfalcao05 Thanks for the encouragement. The ridge was very soft that whole day and it ended up not being much of a speed run but a leisurely ridge flight back south. I ended up taking video during the next 7 days of contest and will be posting videos of much more interesting ridge flights as I get them edited and uploaded. I have another video for Monday uploading right now. :) Bruno

great clip again! thx for sharing! Question:
Do you have a new position for your camera or do you bought a new lens?

Hey Bruno,
Again, a beautiful job in the video production! One quick question, is the background noise I hear wind or radio with the squelch off?
