Alamoe13, they were officers who were responding to a man with a gun at a private home. As I understand it, one of the officers were just approaching the building when he was shot. I really don't like the fact that I find it very hard to have sympathy for cops that get killed or their families for that matter. A vast majority of cops I have had to deal with are liars, they are currupt, they don't care about getting to the truth, they lack greatly in people skills, and are on power/ego trips. They also cover for other cops who don't deserve it and are very quick to "cuff and stuff" and ask questions later. And that's sad.
And thats why violence will never end... because you will not do anything to stop it. Your more upset about a cop pulling you over than some crazy nut head with a gun planning to kill people. What happens when some nut in your neighborhood shoots and a stray bullet enters your home and kills someone you love?
Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a "violence monger". If I as an individual could do something to end all the violence, I'd do it in a minute. Getting pulled over when I've done something wrong does not upset me. Getting pulled over and having a cop shout profanity for no reason with my wife and 3 year old girl in the car does upset me. I've never been one. I must admit that I don't think I would make a good one. I just don't think I have the skills that a "good" cop should have. Everything I have said here I have witnessed firsthand and not just been "told the story". Police departments need to take a good, hard, honest look at the way they hire, train, and dicipline their officers. Alamoe13, they were officers who were responding to a man with a gun at a private home. As I understand it, one of the officers were just approaching the building when he was shot. I am from Pittsburgh, And despite anyone saying about corrupt cops, no human being should be gunned down for ANY reason. Cop or not.

I really don't like the fact that I find it very hard to have sympathy for cops that get killed or their families for that matter. A vast majority of cops I have had to deal with are liars, they are currupt, they don't care about getting to the truth, they lack greatly in people skills, and are on power/ego trips. They also cover for other cops who don't deserve it and are very quick to "cuff and stuff" and ask questions later. And that's sad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a "violence monger". If I as an individual could do something to end all the violence, I'd do it in a minute. Getting pulled over when I've done something wrong does not upset me. Getting pulled over and having a cop shout profanity for no reason with my wife and 3 year old girl in the car does upset me. Also when a cop tells out and out lies to help his own interests. Not that I condone at all some nut going around and shooting them or anybody else either.

I've never been one. I must admit that I don't think I would make a good one. I just don't think I have the skills that a "good" cop should have. Everything I have said here I have witnessed firsthand and not just been "told the story". Police departments need to take a good, hard, honest look at the way they hire, train, and dicipline their officers. If they don't, we'll keep getting what we got on April 4 and I don't think anyone wants that.
