what he failed to mention ish checking the tension with someone ON the bike compressing the suspension. The chain gets tighter when swing arm ish raised. If too tight, chain takes the impact of bumps instead of shock/s.
@91ibanez- The only way to really make sure that both sides are even is to measure from the center of the swingarm pivot to the center of the axle on both sides...
You have to adjust BOTH sides of the axle! If you only move the left side, your wheel will be out of alignment and you'll have serious problems! You MUST check to see if your wheel is aligned! I definitely would not want this guy working on my bike!
I clicked and I'm not expert but he knows what he's talking about. Listen to him or get yourself a leg chop when your chain pops then them some ASSphalt face grind along with your teeth knocked down your throat!
Just a couple tips. Clean and lube your chain first then adjust it. Most "tick" marks are off a little, the best way is to count the flat spots on the bolt head when adjusting in or out and make the other side the same. Put tension on the chain when torqueing the axle nut. This will make sure the axle blocks ar snuged up to the adjuster bolt.
