This whole thing was because of that stupid, greedy egotistical manager of theirs who conned them into lip syncing the lyrics because he had no confidence they could sing and he wanted Milli Vanilli to be young and sexy and the real singers were'nt. They should have given the grammy to the real singers and composers of that music because it was so tremendously popular. How many other first time unknown artists produce an albumn with 5 top 10 hits, 4 of which went #1?

@napachild I agree with you 100%. I think their manager sold them out because they didn't seem very humble at the time(mainly Rob). When they won the grammy's neither one at least thanked the man that made them big. It's like a slap in the face and then their was a book that was supposed to come out about them so that really upset their manager - producer ( Frank Farian ). It's just sad. They still were great at what they did especially their performance.

Well it is not perfect but it is certainly not worse than a lot of live performances from other pop-artists.

For me I never understood the commotion back then. I even thought it was a hell of a joke to the world. it proved that since the introduction of video it isn't about the music anymore but about the looks.

Look at the video's of the real Milli Vanilli and then those of Rob and Fab. Case Closed.

Come on, Fab and Rob were not intelligent enough to pull this fiasco off. They were simple puppets of the business people who run the music business. They were fined $4M + $3M in legal fees. I'm sure they made 100s of Millions off these guys. Can't blame Rob and Fab for taking the job. They were simple employees. The music none-the-less is great and there would not have been a Milli-Vanilli without Rob and Fab, the original singers were not too stage worthy.
