  • @blondegraemey bit of a long shot, but do you have any of these left mate?

  • @stefanhaukguitarist

    Sorry, none left. G

  • where did you get the schematic and the parts list im thinking about buying one and how much did it cost all together

  • what amp are you using?

  • @Letes92

    I think it's a Fender Twin.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha......... that's my laff sustain. The note at 5:34 just great. . . seems to respond well to volume pot roll downs... nice

  • Wow, good work! It sounds like the original one! Where did you get the metal case?

  • Do you have any left that are up for sale?... if so how much?

  • Can i buy one of those?/ Simon

  • Your voice sounds just like Robert Plant!!!

  • I've really fallen in love with the midrangey Tonebender MKII sound. And I've finally had some real time with my Pro Bender in a live setting. Doesn't cut through that well, but it's worth it to get that spongy germ. sound. Notes have that swirly decay, and it cleans up very-well, better than the DAM, I think (but the DAM just nails the MKII tone). It's slightly-smoother than the DAM.

Sorry to sidetrack, but does anyone know the status of Sweet Sound? Will his wife continue running it? Thanks.

  • That thing sounds good. It always amazes me how guys can use all sorts of different transistors and still end up with the same sound (like Throbak - My Fuzz Haze has (I think) 2N404's, and I think he also uses those for the Stonebender - MJS uses AC128's in their London Fuzz, and I bet they use them in the Brit Bender as well). I have a Sweet Sound Pro Bender, and it's great. It's got OC81's but I think they're from the early '80's. Still sounds like an old Tonebender. Been using it a lot lately

  • looks and sounds great, nice job

  • Looks nice.

Could you tell me what dimensions does the case have?

  • Hi, it's 120mm x 92mm x 35mm. G

  • hi graemey!

    great video! I'm a DIYer and I've built a DAM FleshHead clone (TBMK2+treble 'n boost pot from a MK3)... I've a question for you: what's your Q3's collector voltage?

For the first test I've biased at 4.5/5V, but on the DAM forum I've read that the MK2 needs to be biased at 7/8V to have the best performance...

    what's your experience?

    cheers

    Carlo

  • Hi, I don't have a pedal here to measure at the moment, they have all been sold. I biased them by ear to have the clearest non-gated sound. G

  • Hi,

Been watching your videos for quite a while. First of all, thanks for sharing the pedal tests all over. And second... this fuzz sounds very good. How much would be one of these? It would be interesting to have a "bias" pot to give a slightly messed sound sometimes. Would that be possible?

    Keep rocking !!

  • Hi, yes it would be possible to have a bias pot (instead of the bias trimmer)

Message me if you are interested in one of these pedals. G

  • I built it.

  • Wow this is the best sounding tone bender I've come across yet. Very Beck and Page like. What amp were you running it through?

  • Thanks! I think I ran it through a Fender Twin. G

  • man this sounds amazing!!!! Really liked it with the strat bridge pickup!

  • Oh boy. I might have to build a tonebender, when I'm done with my amp project.

    Yours sound really good!

And I've noticed in your videos, that you have a cool picking style.

  • Do you have tried your Sola Sound MK II replica using with a wah pedal...It works without it screaming and howling?

  • Yes it sounds great. No Howling like a Fuzz Face. G

  • how can I buy one of these?

  • Message me if you want one. G

  • @blondegraemey alrighty

  • @blondegraemey

How much are your tune benders ? I've looked for them on Ebay but I just see the pricey DAM's etc. I don't know how to reach you versus just leaving msg's here. I'm a youtube noob as far as knowing how to use it very well.

  • @blondegraemey

How much are they ? I've looked for them on Ebay and only seen the pricey DAM units and some others, but not yours. I'm not sure how to reach you direct vs. just leaving msg's on this board, which I seem to bew having a difficult time doing...

  • I have sent you a private message. G

  • @blondegraemey

I think I replied to this already, but just in case it didn't go through, I will reply again. My answer to your proposition is "yes" but it will have to be in September, as i have some August commitments, which must be taken in order, just as yours will be. I also had a proposition for you re: a friend of mine who's starting ( inch by inch, on a shoestring ) a boutique amp company. People always reference Page or Beck with this, but it also is reminiscent of Meddle era PF.

  • how can I buy one of these?

  • Thanks G. it is always a pleasure to watch your videos... thanks very much .-)

  • whats the second guitar?

  • It's an Epiphone Riviera. It has Seymour Duncan Jeff beck PAFS in it and a Bigsby. G

  • Could you show us how to make one?

  • Brother... this is one of the best sounding pedals I've heard. Nice job! Cheers.

  • @TheOzzk Hi, I am making fuzz pedals. Sola sounds ect. Check them out and let me know what you think. Thanks orbitbuilder

  • where do you get your enclosures? they don't look like hammonds...

  • I get them from Maplins. Actually, I think they are Hammonds if I remember rightly. G

  • How did you connect the shielded wire to each leg of the transistors? I've seen this on a lot of tonebender and have always wondered how it's done. Love your videos, keep them coming.

  • Hi, I just clip some shield off a piece if wire with my wire strippers and then push it onto the transistor legs. G

  • Greetings from Canada! Nice work!!! Great sustain!

  • I actually kind of prefer your MK1 heh

  • Very nice work!

Video very well done. Oh yeah, and, nice chops through a great sounding pedal.

I'm glad I found you on Youtube buddy!

I've been trying to settle on a circuit to build and add to to come up with my own take on a distortion pedal. Your construction values are top notch. Often my circuit boards look as if I put them together with a blindfold on. Lol

I'm gonna try to be more like you.

    Chuk

  • Thanks! Glad you liked the video. G

  • Hey, good job. I been building fuzz pedal now for a while also. I think that you do good demo's keep it up.

  • What amp are you using?

  • A Fender Twin set clean. G

  • Yet another great video

  • Sounds great! Is it battery only? Let me know when you have one for sale.

  • There is one on Ebay right now.

    Search Tone Bender Mk2.

    G

  • Thanks for the video, love watching your stuff. Great tone and insight as always :D

  • You nailed it Brother!

    Beautiful, responsive fuzz!!!

    Congradulations.

    Chris

  • Great Job. I hope you still post all these cool stomp box demos instead of making them. I have a Maestro fuzz.

  • I noticed in the circuitry, you had a trim pot, what was that for?

  • It's there as a variable resistor so the circuit can be biased for best performance. G

  • I detect some very nice transparency and overtones...even through my computer speakers...very nice indeed!

One of the many reasons I subscribed.

  • I want.

  • wow, this is great! what kind of price would you sell one around?

  • Hi, I've sent a message to your inbox. G

  • you ever came across or thought about trying to make a Maestro Parametric Filter they are the tits.

  • Never seen that one? G

  • Man how much would it take to hire you to build me a custom designed pedal?

  • Drop me a message and tell me what you are after. G

  • wow sounds class !!!!

great sustain and feedback control mate

    "Alex Harvey would be proud"

  • Thanks man, glad you like the vid! G

  • was that an epiphone rivera?

  • Yes, I put Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck Pickups in this one. G

  • Great Work Man!!!

  • Hey dude,

Awesome pedals you have! You have a very interesting hobby and your selfmade pedal sounds great!

I was wondering if you could demo some of your amps with different effects (especially Fuzz) I can't find some good amplifier demos which show you how they sound with different effects.

    Greetz from Holland :)

  • Hi, I can't really crank the amps loud enough to show the true effect they would have on the sound of a fuzz pedal. Maybe if I take my stuff to a rehearsal studio I could do it? G

  • Great Work as ever, please send me buying information. many thanks

  • This thing sounds great! Nice Job!!
