I fucking hate american cops, always happy to pull out a taser or a gun, doesn't matter if they are 84 or 4 years old but this was very proffesional and very well handled in my opinion. He gave her enough time to understand what was happening, he tried to use methods that wouldn't escelate the situation and was in the end forced to use force against her. Keep it up, this is what we want to see more. Police who are calm, patient and considering, why else do we pay them?

The tasering wasnt wrong. But I DID SEE TWO things the cop DID DO wrong~

a. He should have never let her fumble around in the car while she was arguing. If she was armed or both, that could have very well gotten him shot.

b. He should have not allowed the woman to take control, get out of the car and start roaming around calling people on a cellphone. Invites in an uninvolved 3rd party that could potentially witness in a frivilous lawsuit.

Well, even though the officer was very patient and even though the woman was very uncooperative, I think it was still excessive for the officer to taser her.

Tasers should be used to stop someone from escaping or attacking, not for punishment.

"Do what I told you to do and you won't get hurt."

Before telling her to put her hands behind her back, he should have told her she was under arrest.

Then he should have waited for the officers that did come. No need for tasers.

I would also be surprised if South Carolina even HAD such a law. SC Code 16-9-330 only concerns resisting arrest, and he had not previously told her she was under arrest. Similarly for 16-5-30. It is not 56-10-535.

I could not even find a law making it a crime to obstruct an officer in the performance of their duties, like most states have.

The punishment should NOT be death, even for a small percentage of the cases.

Weapons capable of killing people, such as tasers, should be used only for self-defense or stopping fleeing felons. They should not be used for punishment.
