It's like they simply filter out anything Mr. Obama says that doesn't fit their preconceived image of him. Rachel Maddow gets it, though. She was definitely having a WTF? moment after he disparaged Bushco for war crimes (kidnapping, torture, imprisonment without trial, etc.), and in THE SAME SPEECH he outlined his plan to continue them. All of them. Only he called them by other names.

Obama's current policy decisions are consistent with who he's been all along. People experience WTF moments because they weren't paying attention in the first place. The man has always been a moderate, politically savvy opportunist (his embracing and then later dumping of Rev. Wright is a good example).
