Besides language and physical characteristics, ancient MIGRATION and genetics MUST be taken into account if the Ainu are to be distinguished from other surrounding peoples. Genetics show that the Ainu people have prehistoric connections to southern and South-East Asia, but are also mixed with surrounding northern peoples as well. Please read my comments carefully.

@hungseki Actually baz77a is right to an extent. The presence of Y-Chromosomal haplogroup D2 would imply a southern origin of the Ainu. The presence of haplogroup C3 would also seem to imply this, but may be a later influence by hybridizing with peoples from the North (Mongolians, Siberians, etc.). However, it is possible that C3 had been pushed north by the later Yayoi invaders (ancestors of Modern Japanese) and introduced to Northeast Asians from Ainu ancestors.

Yes we know how Ainu is because it is not fully dead yet and revival of it is also on the way and it is nothing like Indo-European langauges nothing. German is a Germanic language a west germanic and Germanic is a branch within the Indo-European langauge familiy. Indo-Iranian is where the word Aryan comes from from what we know that The proto-Indo-Iranians called themselves that. But there is no aryan race and Indo-European is just a langauge to some extent cultural familiy not genetic.

Im sorry yashil, but thats not true. The genetic evidence shows no connection to "white people" or the indo-iranians (aka aryans). The only reason why the ainu were ever considered white is that when the first Europeans arrived in Japan thought they didnt look japanese at all, and looked more like them. But this was just based on visual assumptions.

So you should calm down about being a 100% sure. ;)... or can you actually prove it right now?

No Saka is not 12 000 years ago if you mean Saka as in Iranian it was defently not 12 000 years ago Proto-Indo-European was spoken only 6000/7000 years ago in the Pontic Stepps. Not everyone who migrated to Northern Euope are blonde even now (The Sami people). A very small portion Russia has light traits, and its definitely not the coldest part. No Semites is a cultural and linguistical term and there gentics can differ greatly as I said linguistical and cultural relations are the same as genetic. Semtic langauges are for an example Arabic,Hebrew and etc those langauges are part of the Afro-Asiatic langauges.
