Thank you, this is quite helpful! I am wondering if you are experienced w/ using sewing pattterns? If so, would u mind assisting in this department by posting a tutorial?! It would be sooo appreciated since you are very clear and a great speaker!
@99jwar Thank you for posting this question. We would really like to help you and we are always interested in providing tutorials for our customers, however we are not entirely sure of the details of the tutorial you are requesting. Please contact us via our contact page on our ThunderLily website and we can open a discussion.
@RuthiesXStitch Yes, the zipper is sewn to the seam allowance. If you first stitch the seam allowance with a loose thread it holds the fabric in place. The sewn the zipper to the seam allowance. When you then open the loose thread the fabric is folded perfectly and the zipper is invisible. However that is just one way of sewing in a zipper, it is slower, but the effect is very nice.
Each pattern is generated for a customer based on their unique measurements, so unfortunately we do not have standard measurements. Customers can enter their waist size and the required length of the skirt at our site (ThunderLily) to get a pattern that fits them esactly.
I think you should include subtitles (:, the song does get in the way, it's hard to hear what you're saying sometimes. But great video! Best I've seen so far :).
@magandaling This pattern is temporarily unavailable as we are working to bring out a new line of designs. You can follow us on Facebook (Check our homepage for the direct link) to stay updated on when we release new lines and also for discounts, sales etc.
Everything about this video is awesome except for that terrible song in the background on repeat! It is distracting and gets really annoying after a while. Other than that great instructions!
We are so glad you like the skirt! Our pattern is set to your measurements, which means you need a zip closure. To make an elastic waisted skirt you would need a much wider waist-band -- the waist would need to be larger than your hip measurements. While this is possible, we would recommend you work with an expert if adapting patterns.
I love this skirt!! I'd like to make it myself, but with an elastic waist, any tips how to do that?? i have never sew before... and i also like to make a "kimono" kind of longshirt, hope you can help me a bit... :)
The video is great and thanks for the instructions. The only thing that can be better I think is the music. It distracts from what is being said and makes it more difficult to follow. But, great vid and really clear instructions! Thanks ^^
I like the music.

When attaching the zip, are you stitching it to the seam allowence? (The stitches not seen on the right side of the fabric?)
