my favorite is the zeppelin from B&W.. well bose is louder but the voice of the zeppelin is clearer

tried in bose store, the back is made of plastic, vibrate pretty bad at louder volumes. Doesn't sound amazing like the $450 price tag would suggest.

I have the b&w Zeppelin and I'm sure the sound-dock 10 would compete swimmingly with it as it looks like a quality product. I don't know why Bose never uses different components such as dome tweeters but I guess they found what works.
