@killerkite333 The song didn't have a title at the time it didn't get released for another year, so the TV station just put "New" as in "New song" it wasn't a mistake.
RE: crowd. Any other year, I'd agree. But this is what living through a horrific and tragic weekend where 9 people were killed tends to do to people.
To me, Muse was kind of therapy after walking numb around on the festival site for two days. Sunburn, Feeling Good and particularly this made me cry my guts out.
This could never have been a party, and Muse knew it. But it's still the concert - of around 10 - that I remember with the greatest affection - and gratitude to Matt, Dom and Chris.
I wish I'd been with them from the beginning. Sadly only learned about muse four years ago or so. My head would have been seen jumping above the rest of the crowd!

Jesus this is surreal to watch, seeing them on like one of the tiniest stages on Roskilde when I saw them headline last year. Really interesting to hear how New Born developed though. They were so young back then :D
Damn I wish I was old enough to have been a fan from the beginning.
you can also hear on the piano intro, it's different from the recording, some words are missing or changed, and the pause between the first verse aand riff is without controlled noise
Good old times - I can still vaguely remember this gig! Interesting thing to note, that this was the smallest stage on the festival at the time. When they played at Roskilde again in 2004, they were on the second largest stage & then they finished off by headlining the biggest stage this year.
RIP Showbiz-OoS. I have all the live versions on my ipod but I guess I will never get to hear you live :(

What exactly happens at 3:40? I'm thinking either
a) He has a theramin in the guitar's neck or
b) The arm movements are just theatrics and he is really using his whammy pedal.
schadenfreude87 3 years ago
It's not a) but I'm sure if you forward him that idea he may use it :D
SairyFairy 3 years ago
b)with a little plec scrathing with the second movement of the right hand, maybe?
fillip27 3 years ago
B), i liked his arm movements and the sound he made
