  • u choose to be a trial lawyer u choose to be a scumbag

  • mark was trying to get 'em back together my guess is lawyer interference,I hate lawyers

  • 1 week ago, that's not near enough time to reconsider my critisisms

  • such a great MarkFarner song...as long as Don stays behind the drums in his pink clown suit the band is unbeatable....too bad he can't bring the whole band together for a real GFR tour! Just a bunch of stand ins and hacks now in Grand Funk....get the band together Mel and Don! Rock on!

  • of course, they are from Michigan,we expect nothing but the best in Music, cars,we're so-so on corrupt unions(ALL) can kiss my ass!

  • いやーマークファーナーカッコイイ。しかしギターの音も独特だな、ソロも良い音してる。

  • This is one of the greatest bands ever.

  • LOL I got more soul noone will ever know:) They'refkm loss:)

  • Saw them this year in Portland. Great show!

  • It's like these guys know that they are the best damn band in the world, and they are gonna back it up every time they hit the stage. Saw them in '75 during their Locomotion and Shinin On tour, but they didn't project this kind of energy.

  • @katazack It's what we do best in Michigan!!! (flint group) We rock the hardest!!

  • I remember seeing this performance on the midnight special back in the seventies, when they actually showed stuff on TV that was worth watching.

  • This is definitely the real deal bring it all back!!!!

  • Man, what an afro!!!

  • Gawd I misssss those days. We even used to have crazy great "street bands" throw up their equipment on a parking lot and play all night. No charge,,for free,,and the cops didn't bother us.

  • Gotta gotta gotta get me an arm band.

  • @BrianHartzog Yes, me too! It's pretty cool.

  • Awesome!!

  • Michigan has always put out the best rock & roll. The original unit needs to get back together. Bad feelings I guess but man, what a band. It's not GFR if there's no Mark Farner.

  • the real racists are in the democrat party, they point away from what is obvious

  • THE BEST BAND GRAND FUNK RAILROAD ROCK AND ROLL PURE

    YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

QUE BUENA BANDA MIERDA HERMOSA MUSICA si ahora en este tiempo fuera asi

si regresaria estas bandas hoy en dia pura mierda de musica

pero ESTA BANDA SI PONE DE LA PTM yeahh GREETINGS SINCE PERÚ

  • I agree with you totally! Michigan puts out the best rock. Grand Funk has always been and always will be my #1 band. Farner has that look and talent of a true Rock Star.

  • @WapsiWillie Two words.....Mo-town!

  • @WapsiWillie Tell me something I didn't know. (kidding) Yea, grew up in Michigan age 1 thru 18. Hell. All you heard on the radio was "Foot Stompin Music" It's all we know in Michigan........Disco had to make a hard right before it bled into Motown...........

  • @WapsiWillie thats because its so damn cold we are cooped up inside all winter with guitars and huge fender amps to ward away the boredom , we jam , . . . . . Im from Mio, Michigan , fronting my own band now living in Roswell New Mexico , where its a hell of a lot warmer , lol , rock on dudes, . . . . . . . . . . .

  • Mark farner was born to do it

  • Grand Funk é Grand Funck.

    Somente fantástico.

  • You heard the day music died song. Well, ROCK died when Grand Funk left the charts!!! dead serious. Michigander here and proud of what groups we put out. Be it Motown stars to Madonna. But, rock steered the pot with us in the 70's and some 80's. I remember watching Queen "We Will Rock You" shock the stadium. Only close ROCK SONG that came close to GRF. Rock On Brother's...

  • What a band. Homer Simpson has great taste!

"The wild, shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner! The bone-rattling bass of Mel Schacher! The competent drum work of Don Brewer!"

  • @darrensilverman73 Competent??? Brewer is great. He can play with anyone.

  • @darrensilverman73 i like the simpsons the grand funk railroad and the who

  • no Eric Holder, that's not racism,It's just my people

  • It's "White Soul"

  • I figured it out,in Michigan we accent the down beat

  • This is Michigan Rock always a step above the rest

  • They don't make em like this anymore. If this song doesn't want to make you get up and move there is nothing that will. This is great stuff lots of energy. This is classic GFR.

  • "Tell EVERYBODY you know"!!!!!!!

  • @MrJuanjv you got some rock and roll soul.

  • CKLW the big 8...80 AM was the strongest radio station in the world, then, and it was just across the Detroit river in Windsor ,Canada, which is actually south of Detroit ,Michigan,USA check a map,is a good trivia question

  • Motown(Hitsville,USA) was 6 miles from where I grew up and I didn't even know at the time

  • Hell I heard Motown songs before they got to Liverpool where the Beatles heard them

  • It's amazing to see how rockers dressed (or in Mark's case, not quite dressed) back then. And Don's 'fro was something else.

  • I miss those seventies so bad... what a band it was, along with at least 100 bands from THAT period...what the bloody hell happened to music today???

  • About Brewer's 'outfit'...1) It's the 70's...everybody gets a pass 2) They're putting on a show 3) The man plays drums like it's the last gig of his life!

  • And Mel wasn't half bad on bass either.

  • your heart starts pumping

  • este es uno de mis favoritos porque tuve la oportunidad de tocar la canción en mi banda de rock "funny company" en arequipa

  • this is what we listened to growing up in Michigan we heard the Best Canadian Music with Detroit Motown and Rock combined,I wouldn't want to have grown up anywhere else

  • This is very pure AND primal rock. Simple and powerfull.

  • the energy, the fun and then this great music, men i love this

  • Why is Brewer wearing a Mariachi outfit?Makes him look gay not rock n roll!

  • Mark's 21 yr old son suffered a near fatal fall & is paralyzed from the neck down. Keep him (Jesse Farner) in your prayers & visit his site for updates. You can make donations as well. God Bless you Mark & your family.

  • @tonlo92 are you nuts how bout giving donald trump some handout or david letterman and any other celebrity wtf marks an ass that wont spend any of his money on his kid he want his "idiots" to (thats what he calls his fans behind the scence) i know him very well dude keep your money he has planty

  • i grew up with these guys they were great didn't get wat they deserved it's a fukin shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Does anybody have a DVD of this entire concert?

  • You don't see performers like this anymore.

  • Mark had and probably still has one of the biggest egos this side of Donald Trump.

  • @nsra1933 man, are you ever off base. Mark Farner, and I know this from personal experience, is one of the humblest, sweetest, and most genuine human beings I have ever had the pleasure to know. He is a confident and electric performer, but he leaves any pretense and persona up on the stage. If you met Mark in person, you would never think you were in the presence of one of the all-time Superstars of Rock n' Roll.

Dude, u wouldn't be Don Brewer now, would ya ?

  • @gerbonkeyboards I have met him a couple times. I used to do some studio work with Frank Zappa and met Mark during a remix session. I will give him one thing, he was entertaining on stage.

  • @gerbonkeyboards

yep must be Don Brewer LOL Mark is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet

  • Una de las grandes bandas americanas, ritmo y poder al mismo tiempo, que mas se puede pedir?

  • Check out,"I'm your captain" is a classic

  • same music we grew up on around here, the english bands lstened to

  • point is the best music comes from Michigan

  • @Syzygy60 Im from IOWA and I agree with you. Best rock came from Michigan

  • freedom to critsize

  • Uncle Ted stands for FREEDOM even for u u idiot

  • used to be some guy ur friend heard, now it's u saw,my ass,say when and where or go to hell commie

  • bullshit their is a u tube video with uncle ted a nd grandfunk

    don't repeat lies,makes u a liar also

  • The Stones never rocked like this! these American boys got it!

  • @tomitstube, Ted Nugent SUCKS! Why would he trash anybody???

  • they didn't write a bad song. i remember ted nugent brutally trashing mark farner's guitar playing. 1st of all, farner's vocals were unbelievable to begin with, and to be honest with you, mark's a better guitar player. nugent played that stupid hollow body that would never stay in tune, it was too susceptible to auditorium/stadium elements, what a moron. nugent was in one of those guitar mags, the one with the listening room, where he was trashing gfr. what an idiot.

  • Whatever happened to my Rock n Roll???!!!

Sooo thankful that I grew up with all this music as a kid in the 70's.

Real music, inspired, soulful, genuine talent.

Kids nowadays just don't get it....either the concept of quality tunes/bands of the past or understand that most (if not all) current "disposable idols" have to offer is pure caca.

If you are young and prefer this over what is out there now...great !!

If you are a parent, share the legacy. Teach your kids to say NO to bad music

  • We all owned some piece of satin clothing, it was the fashion statement of the times back then. Satin baseball jackets were particularly popular. Check out the original "Charlie's Angels". But eroewade is right: Farner looked dayum good in satin. Gods I still love this band!

  • The pink satin ruffled clown suit that the drummer is wearing is KILLIN me lol. These guys really did love their satin clothing heh heh. mark had such a body that he could get away with it, but I still have to laugh.

  • @eroewade Hey, in 1974 EVERYBODY was wearing satin and high heels.

  • @fatherofeight yes sir. it was the era of "glam" rock....Bowie, The Stones, Zeppelin, everybody was doin' the "glam" thang.

  • one word FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!

  • no talent is raw

  • In Michigan

  • And were anti drugs too!!!

  • Oh that funky ole' soul. Love Grand Funk Railroad, when it was MARK, DON, AND MEL!! Never forget you guys when the Funk was Grand!!

  • That must've been one hell of a party!

  • pure raw talent

  • el guitarrista principal cuando ejecutaba sus interpretaciones "danzaba con Lobos"...

  • hi sob's

  • michigan music

  • thiis is music dont like another congratulations for farmer

  • modern music is studio processed mass market garbage

  • the rock it´s alive, if only one person in the world listen that music the the rock will reborn.

you can´t say "the rock it´s dead because all recent bands are just crap"

yua have to say "the rock it´s alive because i listen rock today"

sorry about my english just fix it

  • Awesome.

  • not like Brewer aint kicking ass on the drumsAND vocals here...and how under-rated was he in the limelight of Farner...

  • This is a great show, the whole thing available on video. The only problem I have is with the stage wear! Especially Don Brewer's Cuban/Flamenco shirt or whatever the hell it is! It's PINK and FRILLY and just WEIRD for a drummer!

But you can't deny that the band was ON FIRE during this period.

  • @jaybone23

Hi there, you recon all this footage is on video. Well thats interesting man. Here in the UK there is nothing. What is this video called. I am in the uk and there is not much footage of GFR availabe

    Thank!

  • @jaybone23 Everybody wore colored satin back then. I had a whole suit in baby blue, with glitter stars, and planets...the chics really dug it!!!!

  • @glostaglio Dude, that's hilarious! But I reckon you're right. Every decade has its own fashion disasters, but the 70s were particularly bad.

  • Michigan Band

  • Michigan

  • exelente banda de rock. no ahi algo igual

  • I have this on dvd. message me if u want a copy: )

  • UNA DE LAS MEJORES BANDAS de rock clasico de todos los tiempos sin duda alguna no hay una banda a si en toda la historia con esa energia y tan completo x siempre gran funk

    SALUDOS DESDE LIMA - PERU

  • Michigan born and bread as am I!!! Farner wanted to reunite a few years ago.He couldn't get all they band to do it. :( woulda ROCKED!!!

  • @Syzygy60 hey want the truth...i worked for mark many many years sound engineer /road manager...everybody wanted to re unite EXCEPT mark...he didn't want to share the money..to the point of re-recording the same songs with hired musicians, re releasing the albums and he gets all the money..being in the "so called inner circle" really shows the dirt. talk about a complete primadonna dive..you have noooo idea...i could write a book

  • fasteddie92. Maybe Mark has turned into Terry Knight... (Tragic and ironic, unfortunately.)

  • Napoleon syndrome

  • Man, I dig Donny's shirt. And his hair. How many calories did he burn on just that one song? And he still has enough breath to sing, and sing well. LOVE these guys.

  • come on people this GRAND FUNK

  • i have this concert on dvd if anyone is interested message me : )

  • Nice ass if i do say so myself......thats rock and roll.........

  • I grew up with GFR....love 'em.

they are not known at all here in the UK....

Not sure if Mr Farners hair would be considered a mullet here or not !!!!

Have to consult my friend Mr FRench, the Mullet Guru......watch this space...

  • Thats a shag haircut.Were popular in the 70's

  • Did a show with Don Brewer and his band Flint in 1978 in East Lansing, Michigan. Met him afterwards. Great guy and fantastic drummer.

  • My 56 year old self is getting down to them today

  • Dude made news when he cut his hair to 22" to keep it out of his guitar.

  • Grand Funk

Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2010!!!!!!!!!

    DEMAND IT!!!!!!!!

Who the Freak like ABBA elected in 2009 or the Stooges???????????

    Fuck them.

  • they are much better in live

  • Look at Don Brewer in every Grand funk video he's like the engerizer bunny 110% on every song.

  • Best version ever. Especially the end

  • eddie van halen said his idol is mark farner.

  • What a fantastic band.

  • Footstompin' music! THE American band!!!!!!!!!

  • bjursten, no doubt what u say, those were times of revolution, these are times of involution

  • Wow, you only need to watch this to realize that rock music was much better 35 years ago than it is today. These guys obviously loved what they were doing. Compare this to all of the crap British "rock" bands that have been popular the past 10 years and it´s clear that rock n roll is dead.

  • you're right man, you're right.....

  • @bjursten I Agree, its dead. Personally i am going to try and bring it back, that is my goal. One can hope...

  • @bjursten рок жив!!!!

  • This song is one of the reasons that GFR is so damn great. It shows their virturocity in their styles omusic. Power ballads like "Heartbreaker and Mean Mistreater" to their killer jam "Paranoid'".. Wow. ! Is all I can say. You know after all these years ,I still can't decide which LP I like the most, GFR's Black LiveAlbum or Sabbath's "Paranoid' ? So, I just crack open a case of cold ones ,grab a shop rag, flip a cointochoice which 1 to play, then turnit upto 11 and polish my53 H-D !

  • Still the best band of all time. Just gotta love that funk!! Mark is a great front man.

  • If we would only introduce Rock-n-Roll to the Islamic World we could save alot of problems and heartache. Instead of hating us they would love us and start getting down.

  • LOL

  • meant to say Don's part.

  • I love Mel's part "Nothin but a party" !!!

  • GREAT stuff by Grand Funk--Slade isn't even in the ballpark..c'mon.

  • Comment removed

  • Syze1, with all due respect,...the only thing Slade and Grand Funk have in common is the era that they're both from. I'm a huge fan of both bands, I think Dave Hill is an AMAZING guitar player, but so is Mark Farner...both great bands, but apples & oranges...

  • Lol, slade,,,,wtf

  • I think it's mere coincidence but Tommy Shaw's solo on Blue Collar Man has that Rock & Roll Soul element.?

  • Nobody struts like Farner!

  • I once thought the greatest rock music came from the south, then I remembered Michigan.....

  • Mark, don & Mel, the quintessential POWER TRIO....special thanks to my old friend rRchard Cummings for turning me on to these dudes in 1974

  • Brewer looks lie he just came back from

    Mambo dance class!

  • interesting syze and i would like you to explain .....poor mans slade...interesting phrase

  • Check out "get down and get with it", and "rock and roll preacher" on youtube and you'll get it.

Maybe I'm being a tad harsh on Grand Funk but Noddy's voice form Slade murders 'em :)

  • i am not sure why you want to compare slade with GFR. my guess is that you adore slade. I enjoy some Slade so dont get me wrong but i feel GFR music expressed something raw and energetic and emotional to so many and hence their record sales exemplified this.

  • Yes mate...no issue with that...unless you're implying the music of Slade isn't raw and energetic?

  • music today has lost its soul.

  • wich song you mean?

  • AC DC copy the beginnig of this song

  • in caught in the act is amazing this song

  • The fabulous FUNK! Great live version of this one, thanks for posting.

  • GFR from Flint,Michigan

  • If thats what a Fag looks like, then I want to be one too!

  • Tell everybody you know, you got some rock n' roll soul!

    Sim, eu tenho :)

  • i mean, i cant see why anyone would leave the jimi hendrix experience out of the whole "greatest rock trio" list.

    but grand funk is amazing.

    singer is not a fag

he is prolly one of the biggest baddasses ever to live..

  • grand funk railroad great group i love forever

  • amen.

  • somebody just got owned :')

  • If Cream had not existed, Grand Funk would have been the best trio ever.

  • I like the dram's pink shirt. Its so lovely!!

  • Put your shirt on
