I'd always go to settings and make sure I'd be the only transport company around for a long time. Once I got big in the game I'd let the other companies in. I know it was cheating lol but it was fun watching the other companies fail!!!

Back when you had to think - even 3D shooters, and RTS's - let alone those really hard cRPG's! More 90's PC game video's are needed to counter the console tosh out there saying they made all the great genres! Saw a TV show that said Zelda created the RPG genre where you started weak and ended strong! And that Mario was the first platformer! We need to fight this re-writing of gaming history! The absolute best thing to do with trains is to have two trains with a two-line station in each city - use 1 or 2 passenger carriage (in early game) on each train depending on traffic, then use full load. Your reputation on the station will increase and your business will be better ;)

Use a truckstation to carry mail to another truckstation in the same city to keep up with that demand if you wish.

Damn... I love this game...

Even the soundtrack of this game gives me a big nostalgia.

It's such a sad thing the sequel of this game, called "Locomotion" was a Box Office Failure, while it was a very good game, one of the best tycoon games (below Transport Tycoon ofcourse)

There were some rumours Chris Sawyer (the creator of TT and Locomotion) was so upset nobody bought and make games like these anymore, that he had some big problems in his life... I wonder what he is doing now atm. :(

@kosie92 Well... It's literally been 1 years since i played this LEGENDARY game but I think you just wait and when you reach a certain year you get to start building MAGLEV lines. If you have a vast rail network you then have to replace it all with Maglev, part of the fun!

You need the TTD Patch for the game to work on XP. I have XP too and it works fine because of the patch. I hoped this helped. :)
