  • What is shocking is just how gullible people are.

The Soviet Story is an APPALINGLY HORRIBLE film, biased, bigoted, and hateful towards Russians and has HOTHING to do with actual scholarly history in any sense of the way. It's clearly a propaganda film, designed to discredit the political opponents of the people who sponsored this film: the left.

Stalin was a MURDERING PIECE OF SCUM, but Communism does NOT equal Nazism, Russians are not evil, like this film suggests.

  • @JD12ish .."What is shocking is just how gullible people are." esp the russians. never known anything except rules from the top (Crime-lin)

shitler = shatlin = shit. both scum; both vipers / snakes, against the free world.

  • @JD12ish " Russians are not evil, like this film suggests" ... that's a matter of perspective. On the whole you are correct. But all russians are treated with the utmost suspician. therefore all possible scenarios have to be considered.

This film does not suggest ALL RUSSANS ... the title is "The Soviet Story"; not the russian story.

  • @40bcoots The title is the SOVIET Story yet almost half of this film is dedicated to NAZISM. Why? There is hardly any mention of Stalin's purges, just conspiratorial speculations on the suspicious similarities between propaganda posters of the USSR and the Third Reich (not exactly scientific research).

I’m not sure I know what you mean by “a matter of perspective”. How are Russians any different from the rest of us Europeans?

By the way, do you happen to know what the UEN Group is?

  • @JD12ish ..the purges were an internal issue. the joint R-M Pact of 1939 was not. The soviets taught germany about concentration / death camps.

Are you saying the the British historians are idiots?

"perspective" .. shit. I thought it .was obvious .. it depends upon whether one suffered under the soviet regime or not.

That was about Soviet Russia ... not today's russia.

  • Have you even seen the SS or were you on medication at the time? PRESENT-DAY Russia is subjectively portrayed as a country run by neo-Nazis and Vladimir Putin (the CURRENT president of the time when SS was made) as continuing Stalin’s tyranny. If you ask me, a boatload of BuIIShlt.

I don't know why I even continue this conversation. I produce solid arguments and you produce grammatical errors. Good Job!

And you haven't answered my question: Do you know what the UEN Group is?

  • @40bcoots An INTERNAL issue? I hope you don’t mean victims of purges don't matter because they were Russians?

And the part about British historians is LUDICROUS. I'm not saying they are idiots, I'm saying YOU are the idiot for believing everything you see on TV. I have read British historians and none say the NKVD trained Gestapo, because IT'S NOT TRUE! Where is the proof? There is NONE! Only a statement of INTENT, a common diplomatic gesture. No ACTUAL meaningful cooperation ever took place.

  • @40bcoots You might believe the simple version from the Soviet Story, that the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact was one big Communist CONSPIRACY, but the rational, logical explanation, based on facts is this:

THE SOVIETS AND GERMANS WERE ALLIES BECAUSE IT SUITED THEIR TEMPORARY INTERESTS.

The USSR wanted to buy time to modernize and build an army so it could defend itself and Germany wanted to avoid the mistake from WWI of having to fight a war on two-fronts. Get it now?

  • @JD12ish .."By the way, do you happen to know what the UEN Group is?" ... what's your point on this group?

"one big Communist CONSPIRACY" ... I've never seen any comment / remark that has stated that.

  • @40bcoots The UEN Group is a collection of conservative, right-wing political parties within the EU parliament (several of its members were interviewed in the SS). As you might imagine the opponents of the UEN Group are LEFT-wing parties (also known as socialists or communists under the general umbrella term). The Soviet Story, in a grotesquely subjective manner, presents Communism as a deeply vicious and evil ideology blatantly equating it with Nazism (the obviously plain message of the film).

  • @40bcoots The creation of the film Soviet Story was funded entirely by the UEN Group (why do you think it's legal and free to distribute over the internet?). What a striking COINCIDENCE then that a film sponsored by right-wing political parties brands communism as GENOCIDAL!

It’s a coincidence in the same way an AUDI car-salesman will tell you BMWs are terrible cars or a fan of Manchester United will tell you Barcelona sucks.

  • @JD12ish .."It’s a coincidence" .. it's no coincidence ... uSSR was genocidal, as was shitler's dream of ridding the Baltics of the Balts. Isn't it a coincidence that the SSr crimes do not get reported, but the SS crimes do?

Isn't it a coincidence that finally ruSSia officially admitted to the Katlyn massacre last year?

  • @40bcoots To the overwhelming majority of people who haven´t studied history but have seen the Soviet Story World War Two seems like one big Communist conspiracy – Nazis were actually Communists and that’s why they collaborated with the Soviet Union and why they killed millions of people. The context or causes for these tragic events are irrelevant in the Soviet Story.

But the absolute worst is the APPALLING HYPOCRISY of this film (look up "Betrayal of the Cossacks" on Wikipedia to see why).

  • @40bcoots Here is a direct quote from the Soviet Story:

"Turning human tragedy into a farce has become a norm in Russia. Ridiculing the Ukrainian famine or the Jewish holocaust is the norm."

This load of BullShlt is presented as mainstream. Similarly, a few extremist politicians are shown as the majority opinion and the official position of Russia, which is of course IDIOTIC NONSENSE, not to mention RIDICULOUSLY HYPOCRITICAL. So YES, the SS is a bigoted display aimed at ALL Russians.

  • There is a WW11 joke: a man is interviewed. He is asked "if you have two bullets, who would you shoot first? ... the german or the russian?". The man replied "First the german, it is my duty; .. then the russian ... it is my pleasure".

The Baltics were independent countries before the war. Somehow Putin believes that when germany handed over the Baltics to russia it was legal! At the same time Putin says the Rippendorp / Molotov pact was illegal! Go figure!

    russians GO HOME to russia.

  • @40bcoots That is a funny joke, hahahaha, pleasure killing Russians, hahahahah...

A very funny joke, that is not at all racist. Not like those racist Russians who are all Communists bent on killing and destruction.

I can tell you are a very intelligent individual, unbiased and a friend to historical accuracy, just like the film Soviet Story.

  • there are still peaple leaving in russia who took part in atrocities and need to be held responcible for crimes

  • Inese Vaidere bija PSRS kompartijas locekle. Studentiem pasniedza zinatnisko marksismu-ļeninismu...

  • Bet, redzi, PSRS laikā, daudzos amatos vispār nevarēja tikt, ja nebiji kompartijas loceklis.

  • The world should proclaim both Communist and Nazi regimes murderous and anti-humane

  • Agree!
