  • awesome!

  • Beautiful. The song may have been better had they played like this for the long drawn out jam part. Much better sounding than the random playing and noodling on the album.

  • @DoubleO711 Wow, that's a nice compliment, I'm not sure I'm worthy...

  • Love the sound of the guitar, too bad you jazzed the song up though.

  • @TheCompanyRules whats bad about that? this is what makes it unique and personal.

  • Magic! reminds me of some Joe pass improvisations !

  • is this standard tuning? anyways i LOVE this cover. I'm totally downloading this for my iPod :). Thanks!

  • @Makksor Thanks! Yes it's standard tuning.

  • Wonderful version. Really like it.

I also enjoyed watching the thumb popping over the neck for the cheeky G7s and F# bass notes!

  • I cried when I heard this. Man you are just incredible. You play with so much emotion!!!

  • @MrGeorgios2020 Thanks, it's a nice compliment!

  • Show-off! Whew - nice!

  • 1:31 - 1:36 what scale are you playing? sounds phenomenal! i have to say honestly that this is one of the most beautiful playing ive heard in my life. thank you very much, greetings from earth :)

  • @LaWey Thanks a lot! That is a Bb diminished arpeggio ascending over an A7 chord, and a descending D harmonic minor scale over a Dm chord. Glad you like it.

  • Absolute trance!! Cant see ur face are u R.Fripp??

  • magic !

  • There are aspects of this very similar to Summertime aren't there? Very well played 21st century Schizoid man.

  • dropping silver stones on a sundial....

  • Keep at it 'Fisto' your 'big break' is just around the corner !

  • This is pretty impressive. Full of subtle harmonic and rhythmic nuances. Refreshing jazz approach, but remains tender and heartfelt.

    Excellent.

  • Great interpretation. Beautiful, infact.

I'm sure Fripp would approve. ;-)

  • Some elements were nicely performed but others not so, a waltzy baseline segment in a melodic wistful piece like this one (please?) ! More alarming though was your righthand technique which unfortunately is sadly flawed with that very stiff (and ugly) 'fisto' approach to the strings.. the viewing (and ear)experience was sort of akin to watching someone with a clubbed foot attempting to play football - Sorry :]

  • @alzoom007 Can you explain what you mean by flawed right hand technique...better still could you show us all how to play with the 'correct' right hand technique? I'm assuming you are an authority on the subject? I look forward to you posting something....

  • @NWheelerGuitar Yep not a problem.. making a fist when holding the pick ie not extending or showing the 2nd 3rd & 4th fingers with the righthand restricts wrist extension and also interferes with the movement of the pick over the strings . If you listen closely to this example you will note that the wrist is so clenched that these fingers actually mute articulation of the sweep execution..

  • @NWheelerGuitar Thrip's jazz tuitor probably mentioned this in the same sentence where 'ugly' hand positions were discussed - or ought to have been ! I'll be posting my own Master Class video shortly.. in betweens try viewing the examplary righthand technique of such Jazz Legends as Charlie Christian, Joe Pass & Larry Carlton while you're here :}

  • @alzoom007 OK I look forward to seeing that! Yes I agree Joe Pass had incredible right hand technique as I recall he used to 'Gyspy Pick' i.e do a down stroke for every new string I believe he used to curl his fingers in (or as you call it a 'fist' technique) like thrip too! I hadn't realized there was any footage of Charlie Christian to look at his right hand technique....

  • @alzoom007 you're a twat.

Romane seems to be doing fine with the same "flawed technique".

    This is beautiful playing Tim!

  • @londonbige .. Tim a friend of yours is he ?.. your impartiality is as touching as it is ill-informed !

  • Some elements were nicely performed but others not so, a waltzy baseline segment in a melodic wistful piece like this one (please?) ! More alarming though was your righthand technique which unfortunately is sadly flawed with that very stiff (and ugly) 'fisto' approach to the strings.. the viewing experience was sort of akin to watching someone with a clubbed foot attempting to play football - Sorry :]

  • @alzoom007

Your comment is simply laughable! I'd stick to watching Australia's Got Talent if i were you.

  • @nefryl Thanks! Yes it's standard tuning.

  • @nefryl very nice, superb stands for king crimson, this guy is just a fan and he does it good but i rather never play monchild like this,

  • @ALanSaidTrujillo

Oh I know that, I just find his interpretation really interesting and I loved it as fan of jazzy melodies (I can't say I'm jazz fan) Long live the King

  • Amazing job, man!

    Congratulations!

  • nice really nice man, good mix of jazz with it

  • Very nice version.

  • beautiful

  • such nice tone. awesome man. thanks!

  • @InMusthband thanks, nice comment!

  • Thats a great solo jazz kind of version of it.

  • Watched your video again and really love what you did with the tune. Have you ever thought about using flatwounds? Tomastek-Infeld makes one of the only pure nickel wrap sets like all the cats always used. They sound great.

  • Fantastic job! Your 53 is super clean. Much cleaner than my 54. So funny that someone wants "tabs" of this. You got the guy's hands right there in front of you playing it. Figure it out!

  • @veeshead thanks, there's nothing like a P90 175!

  • brilliant

  • awesome! really nice cover :]

  • That's So Amazing !!

    Love It !!!

  • VERY nicely done. I like how you've incorporated your influences.

  • Thanks :-)

  • Amazing, you are the best semi-acoustic player i heard so far =) could you please put some tablature of this online? I visited your site, but couldn't find it.

  • Thanks! No tabs as yet, sorry.

  • this sounds fucking amazing man! goddamn i wanna play like this some day!

  • thanks!

  • bravooo!! bravisiimoo!! kudos to youuuu!!! :o

  • Thank you!

  • Wow, you really made an amazing song out of Moonchild (sorry, I believe King Crimson are way overrated and apart from a couple of their songs/compositions I don't really enjoy their albums). Amazing job, great Djangoesque moments inbetween.

  • Thanks! I almost agree with you about KC. Their albums are generally a mixture of amazing and cringeworthy! More the former than the latter though imo.

  • Wonderful! Very jazzy.

  • Thanks!

  • Excellent stuff, you did a nice job turning this crimson tune into something with reminiscences of Gershwin and other jazzy influences.

  • Hi Alex, I'm very glad you like it! Thanks for listening.

  • now this sound's great

  • Thanks, much appreciated.

  • Amazing guitar and amazing guitar player

  • Beautiful guitar! I always get a laugh when I hear those diminished sweeps too. It's like the universal way of saying "I like Django".

  • Exelent in every way

  • Thanks. Glad you like it!
