@torrinpaige your hair is amazing! How long did it take to grow?! My hair's just a little past my shoulder and I can't stand it! I wanna grow it out! So how long did it take? And any tips?
Thank you soo much. My friends and family have been trying to teach me but they never did it right. They either explained like mud and showed me great, or they explained it great but showed me like mud. But thanks to you I can now braid. Now all I need is longer hair.
I think the lightbulb just went off in my head. Never tried with a ponytail to start. Just a longhaired dude here looking for a different way to go with the flow. I liked the looks of braids I see guys wearing, but can't do one worth a flip myself. Will see thanks for the pointers.
Hmmm, methinks I kinda got it now. Never tried starting with a ponytail. Must practice tomorrow. And btw , a guy here, just looking for something slightly different for work. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
i tried the rope braid today. i did get alot of compliments, thank you. mine was in a side pony and i had to do two braids just because my hair is so thick it did not want to stay in one. i was just wondering if there is a good way to keep them tight?
@unicorntear303 There's no way I know of to keep them super tight, unless you take your two rope braids and rope braid them together...that gives you the Hawser...which looks like a four strand box braid without the muss and fuss!
This worked great for me on the first try! Thanks! I also tried your victorian 'do with the 3 braids, and got a compliment on it within 3 minutes after I left the house.
i love your hair. my hair is about shoulder length and very thin so it was as nice as yours but it did still work. but your hair makes me jealous. and the bun did work great with the braid so even though the braid wasnt the best the bun helped me pull it off and as a busy mom this is a cute hairstyle that i have time for. thank you
Wow, this is pretty easy. I got it on the second try. I just wish my hair was thicker. After doing this braid type, the thickness of the braided ponytail is like half of what her's is.
ok some of us need a video for morons who still can't do this braid been trying for a little while i just don't know what I am doing wrong your video is so clear but I am just not getting it maybe my hair is just to shor I don't know!!!! But love the videos I guess I'll keep practicing!!!!
This is an awesome idea! I think I've found the hairstyle I'm going to try for tomorrow! What do you do with your hair to keep it so smooth? I don't put any products in mine other, than shampoo/conditioner of course. When you made this style, was it the same day you washed your hair?
Thank you so much! I've been trying to do that kind of braid since I was a child! Some even told me it was impossible to make! Thanks to your video I learnt the impossible in 4 minutes!!! :D
you are the best, i've been searching how to do some of these, and i did find how to do it, but it was to hard for me to understand, you made it easier for me...thanks!
lol when you were doing the pony tail I thought there is no way yo uare going to be able to loop your hair through that cord FOUR times, lol but WOW you did it, I am impressed! Your tutorial was absolutley wondeful and wow such pretty hair!
Okay, I'm back again.... And I'm sooo glad I watched this vid, because my first attempt at braiding my daughter's hair actually WORKED and she wore it to school today! Thanks again for the tutoral!!!!
My daughter is 7 and can sit on her hair. I'm always trying to find new ways of fixing it. This is an AWESOME idea! I'm going to try practicing on her hair tonight and, if I can get it right, I'll fix it that way for school tomorrow. Thanks!
When doing a rope braid it's important that the two strands are twisted in the same direction and then wrapped around each other in the OPPOSITE direction. If you're not sure, go to the hardware store and take a look at an actual piece of of rope.
If you were feeling brave, you can then make a hawser braid by rope-braiding some rope braids. Sadly I don't quote have enough hair for that yet.
after you twist the two sections one way, you have to make sure to twist them together in the opposite direction you twisted the original two sections, otherwise it just unravels.
wooow wooow woow ur hair is sooo beautiful!!!! im so jealous :P i have almost ur lenght but no where near the thickness... the only thing u cant change :(
your hair is so beautiful and so healthy! how do you keep it that way? I'm trying to grow my hair long like yours but I often find myself cutting my tips and my i lose alot of hair. What would you recommend?
hi thanks for the tutorial i have a book that explains rope braiding with 3 strands very hard to do...i must be a dummy cos your technique is sooo easy i could do it lol :D
You are no dummy!! I can't do the three strand rope braid either...I simply do not have enough hands. I loved the way it looked and just figured out how to do it with two...so much simpler. I'm glad to hear that you had success with this braid! Yay!
Thank you so much! I came here from Long hair, and you really taught me two new things today! I love your tutorials because you are very good at explaining everything clearly! I LOVE IT!
You did a great job explaining this! My hair is only 20 inches long, and a bit thinner. I aways do this with my hair slightly damp( just to catch lil fly aways I might have)actually I look a bit like you to, if was cool to see you. We could be sisters. I would be the older sister, ok quite a bit older sister.LOL TTLL
Thanks!
