I would just like to point out a misleading (sorry!) explanation of ISNUMBER whem matching items in 2 lists.You say that ISNUMBER is used to return a TRUE/FALSE as to whether an item is a number or not. In fact it can be used to check whether ANY item (number, text, date, time etc) is simply matched somewhere in a 2nd list ( regardless of its ordinal position).

No matter what you are using ISNUMBER for, for the the actual function ISNUMBER, this is a true statement:
"ISNUMBER is used to return a TRUE/FALSE as to whether an item is a number or not".
