Interesting work guys! Looks like your CFMs must have been pretty high, but you're working in the right direction! Keep it up! I'm actually building a vehicle that runs on compressed air myself. Check out my blog, post your comments and ideas as I progress through the build!
A careful observation shows an impressive difference in size, regarding the "air engine" and the air tank. The video lasted about 45 seconds, which is about the length of time one could reasonably expect the car to propel itself. My (educated) guess is that the project slowed considerably, once the it was realized that pressure storage (in the range of "thousands" of psi) would be required to travel around one city block. Neat idea, but in the end; a bunch of hot air. Next idea, please.
This engine is well known (I mean the Gas one) and I would like to use one on motorcycle (light one).
Who know an air engine which is cheap, easy to produce but not so powerful (equivalent to a 50cc/ 1 hp) ? I think that rotational engine are more efficient than piston one but rotational engine are very expensive.
Anyway, our goal is to produce scooter/bicycle with air engine. We produce 1000 motorcycle with gas engine, we want to switch to air as soon as possible!
@leemrfxt that's what i've been telling to everyone man. Converting one type of energy to another means higher losses. Higher losses mean waste of energy resources. But nobody understands it.
The only thing these stuff and electric bikes solve is pollution in cities. They have nothing to do with global issues
wonder what that would run like on steam ...i had a friend make one of them engines...he couldn't quite get it to run on air but he tried a pressure cooker for a joke and it ran perfect ....thumbs up ...good job
3421... but RPM ist no intersting. My engine run to 7200rpm with no load. on load to hill climp run max to 40km/h, about 1700rpm on 4th gear with hill climb load.
engine have 3D performance : RPM and load = power. 3420RPM means about you have bulp on 230V or 12V...and important its current, you have power. 12V and 70watt bulb its same bulb than 230V bulp with 70W...You must have load to test power ov engine (dnostest)
@jeeva171988 thats great, but at that pressure the volume of air required would be huge. so it wouldnt be that useful for propelling a vehicle. you should make it a steam engine.
@jeeva171988 thing is a compressor motor uses only 6 hp to make this 6hp motor run :P kinda pointless make a steam engine if it is full alumnium because cast iron sleeves wont last with steam... also that must be a expensive (used to be) motor so pls make your own engines cuz these are expensive

@trancepose its pointless to much air is needed to make it usefull.

Incomplete and unsubstantiated.
I see an off-the-shelf converted gasoline engine running on air.
Where is your engine that you designed in your own way ?
Your BMEP is 70psi. Are you kidding me? You claim large amounts of power never ever produced before with a BMEP of 70psi?
Lets see the dyno chart...
That's what I thought. Phooey!

6bhp.... That can easily be accomplished with a 100cc 4 stroke. Get a 2 stroke and you will get more then double that.

can you add some info on your engine type, decompression ratio/cylinder displacement
and intake pressure?

Its really amazing speed. v got this speed only at the pressure of 70 psi approx 3.4 bar......
