would you believe one cocky ripped a small piece of tile off (it was old and cracked though). this worries may. can't just leave em out there to eat and be relaxed about it all. any tips? or it wont happen much?
hi. thank you for sharing. i have also been attracing wil bird recently, and have been fortunate to get cockies too. out houses here are brick with tiles, but i'm wondering if it could still be an issue (with cockies wrecking our houses). sometimes, they poke around a little in the gutter, and i'm a little worried about that. what do you think?

i get like 10-15 every morning and after noon that hand feed. If i dont put seed out they stare in through the windows and nock the stuff off our back table.
You're a sweetheart for giving them snacks. And for allowing them to chew your railings. I had a citron cockatoo once and he could chomp off a piece of hardwood in a second flat like it was cheese. It's so cute when they fluff their front cheek feathers to keep warm or through emotion.
It would be awesome to have birds like that come to my backyard. All we have is european starlings and spatzies (house sparrows) here in the US to feed. :(
theres definitely more birds out there you just dont see them. i mostly see some kind of black bird, mourning doves some kind of smaller bird at my feeder but i know theres more there but they just arent coming to my feeder (dammit!!)
i get flocks of 100+ of those damn noisy pink & yellow/white Galah's flying over about 2-3 times a day ( and heading to & from Boronia )into bayswater area etc - i don't really see many cockie's here at all .
i got 2 cockatiels inside ,and they go ballistic when they fly over !
I haven't seen this cockie in a while - springtime brings cooler weather and the numbers are down on summer. But I still had 10 corellas and 3 cockatoos come visit for Sunday dinner :) i just added a video of it.
@smartiesplace This is exactly what I was looking for. One cocky I feed all the time, just hasn't been around for a while. he basically just doesn't seem to come for maybe don't know 3 weeks. I'm thinking what your saying here, that he is far away as now the weather is good?? although i feed him generously (he's my pet now), so i would think he'd keep coming always ? certainly the other cockies aren't in the area. I can tell usually because i'll see some far away on a tall pole.
I feed the birds regularly, but I have not had the contact that you've had. Thanks for sharing.

There not so great when they sit outside your bedroom window at 4:30am and decide to carry on when you want to sleep! Funny buggers though.

In a suburb called Boronia, which is in the state of Victoria, Australia. These birds are all wild, and visit me almost every day!
