i read the book before i saw this movie and i have to recommend doing that first. the book is so much more powerful, and i feel like the movie could have included more detail to make it equally as powerful, but overall this is a great movie and in no way more disturbing than the book is. i absolutely love asia argentio.

This film is fiction.... and pretty much most of what the plot revolves around is also fiction. It paints an incredibly pessimistic viewpoint of childcare in America. The number of children that stuff like this has happened to in the past decade could be counted in tens, maybe at the most in hundreds. It's hardly a reality check, it's just the director producing something for shock value, which I respect, so long as she doesn't pretend it's supposed to be deep.
