When he is on, which is most of the time, nobody can touch Michael as far as I'm concerned. There are a lot of 70's/early 80's players I admire - Uli Roth, Blackmore, Iommi, Rhoads, Van Halen, Gallagher, Moore, Dio era Viv Campbell, Jake E Lee, Jabs, the guys in Maiden, Priest, early Def Leppard etc, but to me Schenker is best. All the fire of Blackmore, with the feel of Gilmour. The perfect mix of technical ability and soul, and that lead tone! Endless creativity and inspiration.
