i agree its a bad recording of a great song , the stones had alot of great songs in the 80's but with the same old drum beat . its like charlie was replaced by a drum machine ,
Saw the Stones in '81 at JFK in Philly. Sounded horrible. But in '89 I was completely blown away by how tight the playing was. They got really serious about live playing again during this tour.
@ustuppy My told me when he went to the who concert, a blimp came by, it said "Who now, Stones next" and the whole crowd up-roared.. and then he saw them in 89' when the reunited first time in Philly, they opened with this, P.S. I'm fourteen seen them once when I was around 8, since then 22 concerts 8-)
Good "comeback" song from the Stones. Really the comeback was that it was their first tour in over seven years. Steel Wheels was actually their fifth studio album of the 1980s. But they only toured behind this one and Tattoo You.
I wish I could have seen a live stones concert but who knows maybe someday I will so thanks you tube for rolling out the best rolling stones hits in any way, shape or form!!
What a great comeback song, album, and "comeback"tour after an eight year touring break.I didn't think The Stones would survive the mid eighies.Yeah,we got Undercocer abd Dirtrywork but the Steelwheels tour was great! Saw them Sept.10.1989 in East Troy.Wis.(by millwaukee) for the first time. One of the best shows by The Stones I've ever seen!
One of the last great songs by the Rolling Stones. Still, what they did between the 1960s and "Tattoo You" (and notable exceptions in the following years) remains as one of the most impressive bodies of work ever.
@stephencellucci I so agree - I saw them here in my hometown in '89, as did my sister - she happened to have also seen them in New Orleans in '81, and she says the show in '89 was MUCH BETTER - they just seemed so much more "toghether" and "healthier".
This album was a great return to Outstanding Hard R&B. This is The Rolling Stones man. Treasure them now, They wont be around forever. Go and see them everyone, They look like 50 miles of bad road, But they are truly rolling stones, and they are in it for the MUSIC!
AGREED ! Number 1 rock & roll band in the world bar none. ( just my opinion) Then Led Zepllin, and coming in at number 3 --- get this ---- Status Quo !!! Oh yeah The Quo has more history then ANYBODY ! and a hell of a live show even to this day !
You're not the only one.......with.....a mixture of great emotions ....hearing songs of the Stones.....a way off life as well......timeless superb.......thanx for upgrading...
Liked this song from the Steel Wheels album. It was in '89 that I finally got to see the Rolling Stones. Had seen many of the greats, saw Elton John 2 days earlier and then the Stones Steel Wheels Tour. A great song, probably the best on the album. It was outdoors and pouring down rain, but who cared? And when they played Honky Tonk Woman, there was a huge inflatable woman! Mick was still struting his stuff!
@keaster55@keaster55... Absolutely same than me... with the difference that I saw them in Europe, in Barcelona, Spain, and the tour was called "Urban Jungle Tour" ... Does anybody remind it?... I still keep the T-shirt that I bought that day, in june of 1990. There was painted a strange kind of wild wolf (or something like that) in a very "aggressive attitude"
Probably the best song on this album.
