dang i love this tune from begining to end...always feel like grab an instrument and jamming,....bass, drums, and guitar.this is a great warm up song for either instrument.love it,love it great post....
Jackie Ross has a beautiful voice especially when she sings in her soprano. I grew up with "Selfish One" when mom bought it in 1963 and it still remains my favorite by her.
Ms. Ross has such a beautiful voice! she can belt out those gutsy high notes also. great post as always JC! question- is that the Southside Movement backing her on this? i know they were associated with Jimmy Vanleer also.
hey, glad to see you survived the rain and wind. i would bet southside movement was on this, they were vanleer's guys. i think they were basically simtec and wylie's band were'nt they? i'm not sure, but jimmy vanleer made some money on their records for sure.
yeah, they were the t-boxes band and played on simtec and wylie's mr. chand album. the southside movement couldn't help but play funky even when they play sweet delicate soul like this. i have a thing for drums and the drummer's snare on this one is knockin'!
Gorgeous! We do indeed live for this kind of tune in Pittsburgh. Folks where I live now have no idea that there are oldies outside of the usual top 40 items you hear over and over again on the radio.
