  • Rams fans will never forget Tommy Docherty !

  • great game great times i was there ,home andaway somtimes on the football special somtimes in a hire van.a gorton stretfordender with the great old gorton boys great daysnever swap

  • Pisser. They cut the bit where the fan kicks Rioch up the arse.

  • Look at the hair on the guy at the bottom of the screen at 1:14 - truly of it's time

  • gordon hill - legend

  • Rembering these times of being a United fan when Tommy Doc was the manager, fucking amazing and would not swop it for now, paying on the day, 15 to 20,000 United fans at all away games and Old Trafford was brilliant with a singing swaying Stretford End, lol at you fans who think now is footballs best time, dream on, you have no idea what you missed.

  • As usual Derby lost. :)

  • @dirtydonki Well in those days Derby were a very good side, and there were quite a few sides then who on their day could beat anyone, I would sooner watch this than any premier game now...also have did you notice something? players TRIED to stay on their feet back then and PLAY.

  • Bruce Rioch, hard player

  • @etienne1234567 Rioch was a good player and skillfull the foul was unusual for him

  • @WELLBRAN He was, as a kid I remember him at Everton for an all too brief spell.

  • united had unbelieveable support, even in the old second division they were getting crowds of 60,000 at old trafford..unfortunately now its just a circus at old trafford and at many other grounds..The real players and fans now are all in the lower leauges...

  • Working in Nigeria, I flew in the day before the match, paid black market for the open end. It was jammed full of Reds so no idea it was supposed to be Derby end. Due to the overcrowding had to climb a tree to watch the game - the tree was growing out of the banking! This indeed was the heyday of the Red Army support and the atmosphere has never been equaled since. When we went 2-0 up the ground was just jumping. Football today is no comparison - I sympathise with kids who.don't experience this

  • @rjw8652 You are joking aren't ya? Along with Chelsea and West Ham, Man U fans were the scum of the earth in the 70s.

  • two great sides........neutral venue......ecstacy for the winners agony for the losers!!!.........a trip to wembley for the victors....which then.unlike now.......meant everything to supports !! there may be loads more money around in the game now and no question english clubs are doing well in europe but when you see footage like this you cant help but feel the english game has lost something over the years.somdthing that was good and worth holding on to

  • April 3rd 1976.....10 yrs old and at my cousins wedding, so spent the afternoon listening to the radio in the cloakroom. Was gutted when I got back to my Aunt's and was told to go to bed and unable to watch MOTD! My eldest niece was born on the same date many years later..and I tell her that is the only reason I remember her birthday! Great memories, and thx for upload.

  • great stuff !!

  • Notice the lack of foreign players :-) Teams these days do not represent where they are from they represent the UN :-)

  • 1.43 man utd fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone"...

It's amazing the myths that get built up about football.

  • @thedoc24100

IT WAS ALWAYS 'YOU'LL NEVER WALK AGAIN' .......NEVER ALONE!

  • Cried buckets after this game as an avid 11 yr old Derby fan! Was there with my Dad and David Nish WAS ONSIDE!!! Jack Taylor was completely biased towards Utd throughout. Seem to remember he was wired up for the game for some kind of documentary!!

  • My Childhood 'hero' Merlin! at his very best!

  • This was football BEFORE it had been spoilt by the money

  • l was sat right behind hill shoot and watch it go all the way in

  • l was sat above the goal posts. had no ticket found a bloke outside with half hour to go cost me £10 wonderful day ,

  • if you rember down the middle was a thin line of police

  • @duxberry1958

we had half the end which had been allocated to leeds and in total 2 thirds of the ground the following year. Funny how Leeds fan dont mention this when they get all nostalgic. Two years after being in a European cup final they couldnt sell thousands of tickets for a semi final 20 miles away

  • l was at the game still got the ticket

  • yes unbelievable atmosphere .... does anyone remember how United had all of the left end (from the camera view) AND about 1/3 of the opposite end ... fighting broke out before the kick off ... was quite scary ... but the match UNBELIEVABLE atmosphere - my favourite semi ... (how many is it now unbeaten ???)

  • even then the officials were biased

  • Great offside decision. It clearly was.

Bollocks. United again in the FA cup should we get past Forest.

    UP THE RAMS.

  • get on the united fan at the end ,belter

  • The Tommy Docherty Man Utd sides were tremendous teams he is very underated manager. what a joy to watch 2 teams attacking with full commitment

  • Heard great things about this day.

  • Yes It Was. We travelled from Stalybridge over the Moors to Sheffield. The game was fantastic against a very tough Derby side. One thing I do remember is the pain I felt in the Leppings lane end. From about 2:25 till 3:00pm it was a real crush. Could hardly breath or keep upright at times. Once the game started it seemed to calm down until the goals. Great atmosphere and a great day for Manchester United. I first went to Wembley in May against the Saints. Preffered my second trip a year later

  • Probably the greatest day in the Red Army's history
