  • always loved the trans amber colour

  • dude thats a MM axis i've got the same guitar

  • Loud and proud dude!! Awesome playing

Its nice to hear somebody really playing on that raw edge. Heaps of flavour and energy here. Perfection can sound so sterile and boring

  • The EBMM EVH is one of the greatest quality guitars ever IMO

  • Man.............give this guy a break. Sounds great to me. I give him credit for taking the time to share it with all of us. If anyone is saying negative things lets see how good you could do!!!

  • Seems like you can tear this guitar up pretty nicely, why'd you decide to sell it?

  • please someone please tell me what song that is that i reconize at 5:12 . please?

  • @HeetWav13 its called beautiful girls from the Van Halen II album. you can hear it during the verse, it is a fucking awesome song, i learned it about a week ago. it's addictin man. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH YEA! BEUTIFUL GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • just with that low e to high g, i knew it was cliffs of dover...then really? crazy train around :50? wow. lol and at 1:40? hot for teacher? then master of puppets at 2:00? oh at 3:20, sounds like eruption. and 3:30 sounds like pride and joy. ugh, can't figure it at 5:15...

you could probably just make this a song and people will think you are great hahahahaha

  • dude you could maybe be good if you took it slow... dont try to play such... advanced stuff.. i wouldnt buy this guitar after watching the vid im sorry.. maybe xP

Keep at it i guess lol

  • sloppy isnt bad ever ---> kirk hammet;)

but please work on your bends they are a bit off sometimes

  • im thinking either this or g&l rampage i know id like a guitar with a tremolo system

  • @christiancoker1 It is probably light from the camera.

  • Can any1 tell what they prefer in terms of evh lick n songs, basically for van halen songs...evh wolfgang special or this ernie ball musicman ax40???

  • @bailey32121 > The EB musicman is fantastic! I have played all of them and that's the 1 that felt like it was worn in and made exactly for me. Which is really rare.

  • i wish i had your sloppiness then...

  • This is actually pretty good =]

  • Lookout ! a sniper's red point is targeting your beautiful guitar :p) Splendid instrument !

  • eric johnson, joe satriani, randy rhoads, eddie van halen, metallica, pantera, ERUPTION, SRV, sounds like some improv shredding for a bit here...correct me if i'm wrong. then some more Van Halen,

  • Steve Vai performs "I Know You're Here" at The Fillmore Auditorium, Denver, CO. on October 20, 2003. Playing alongside Steve are The Breed: Billy Sheehan on bass; Tony MacAlpine on guitar and keyboards; Jeremy Colson on drums; and Dave Weiner on 7-string guitar.

From the DVD "G3 - Live In Denver" featuring Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen.

  • daaaamn man

i want one of those guitars

    how much is it?

  • dirty playn'...

  • DUDE thats not sloppy its awsome!!! sweet evh aswell ive played one and they are amazing guitars

  • this is pretty great.. you've got some skills

  • 1:59 - 2:17 MASTER!!!!!!!

  • I would have said the first bit he plays was cliffs of dover by eric johnson lol

  • @Jackwoolley You are correct. The opening riff is Cliffs of Dover.

  • @Jackwoolley barely, but yeah. lol. then some satriani. again, barely. LOL

  • @Jackwoolley and the 2nd was always whit me always with you by joe satriani

  • Sloppy? I don't know what you thought when you recorded it but I usually have a pretty short attention span for these videos. Unless it's really good, I check out after I get bored at around 3 minutes or so but I watched and enjoyed the whole thing. Rock on, dude!

  • this guitar , cause Ive played one just yet to own one , is like the most comfertable guitar EVER!!!! love the fret action . almost like theres no wrong way of playing it .

  • Mouth for War sounded awesome.

  • Good stuff... lots of energy!

  • Basically the difference is EVH on the headstock, but the new production Wolfgangs are insanely nice, new neck design, custom pickups, EVH licensed Floyd Rose, custom electronics, amazingly chambered body. And I think the frets are steel.

  • you need work on cliffsof dover

  • @12345678ix lets hear your version now fuckin douche bag

  • whats the difference of a music man and wolfgangs? wasnt music man first tho? but still whats the difference

  • Yes, Ed played the Music Man from 1991-1995 (on tours) & the Wolf from 1996-2004 (on tours)

    Differences.....

    Wolf has a 3x3 headstock & the MM has a 4x2.

MMEVH has only one knob where the Wolfs have 2.

MMEVH pickups were custom wound by DiMarzio & Ed designed the Wolf pickups.

Personally, I prefer the Music Man. Ed got his smoothest tone when he played it.

  • yes ive noticed wolf only have one pickup and wolfs have two. thanks. yes, wolfgang has more option and he used his brain more i didnt know it would have better tone.

  • Aside from the look of the guitar nothing other than the pickups pretty much, and they sound pretty much the same

  • the beginning is cliffs of dover, crazy train, eruption, pride and joy,

  • first one ain't cliffs of dover, it's one from joe satriani ''always with me, always with you'' i believe it's called

  • thats the second part. the very very very intro is cliffs of dover.

  • ah k, missed that ;) soz

  • @mairava1996 its not eruption either, its hot for teacher

  • @murcielagoowner 3:00 - 3:30 is eruption.

  • It IS Eruption.

    Lol.

    =]

    Rune (")('-')(")

  • It's most definitely Eruption dude.

  • Wow. I don't know what I was smoking when I said this but it was definitely Cliffs of Dover sped up a little bit. I have to be retarded. lol.

  • great solos

  • Great playing and sound man, and awesome guitar! :)

  • Sloppy? The sound's a bit "all over the place", but hell, I WISH I could play as "sloppy" as you. :)

This is how you demo a guitar. With proper songs, not weird riffs nobody recognizes.

  • Eric Johnson, Joe Satriani, Randy Roades, Kirk Hammett and Eddie! :P

  • Tryin to play cliffs of Dover at the beginning? Haha that is not sloppy he is just a natural guitar player jammin...like me

  • who cares about sloppy ness aslong as guitar makes you happy thats al what matters

  • kinda sloppy, but at least you know where you're weakness is. Just practice practice practice!

  • Eric Johnson and the Satriani to be more precise :)

  • Always with me Always with you ^^

  • wash your filthy mouth out

  • The best advice I ever got was "don't slow your playing down, slow your hands down".

  • does anyone see the laser pointer dot

  • yes ! It's EVH gonna take him out for playing his guitar so well...

  • yes

  • dude how can you not think thats good, i so wish i could play like that!

  • yes it is sloppy but at least u can play

  • shut up man, ur a badass on that mother fucker dude. rock on!!!

  • better then me lol

  • there was some steve vai in there also.

  • Loving the Crazy Train put in thereee

  • that was cliffs of dover, and always with me, always with you and crazy train! you play nice music bro.

  • they are the same look

  • actually the musicman was years before either wolfgang and hey they sound a million times better than any wolfgang in my oppinon man have you ever heard of the two sayings function over form and beauty is in the eye of the beholder?

  • I didn't say they sounded bad but i just prefer a wolfgang shape over this one.....

  • oh well I was just stating my oppinion they both are beautiful but i prefer the musicman over the wolfgang for the function over form style it has no offence to you everyone's oppinion matters

  • man, that guitar is just perfect! ( for me xD )

  • i have a ´´ernie ball music man exis´´ and i´m 11 years old hihi

  • u should be fuckin great full....

  • sloppy? you should hear me!

  • nice freestyle alot better than most a the turds on here

  • Can someone tell me what song he is playing at around 3:55 ?

  • "Couldn't Stand the Weather" by Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  • @flahprius i thought it was "Pride and Joy" by SRV

  • Satriani on an EVH guitar?

    AMAZING! :D

  • you say original signature.. which the original was a peavey not a ernie ball music man

  • no, evh was with musicman first, peavey made his amps....but they offered him a huge deal...so he went to them....

  • well now he is with fender... i liked him when he was with peavey.. and i learned something new today

  • sloppy? ha! that was great!

  • GREAT!!!

  • Ernie Ball Axis?

  • If anyone needs clarification on what "sloppy" is..............I can post something! I AM the definition of sloppy. Very nice demo bro

  • Did I hear some Cliffs of Dover at the start? :O

  • i think so lol

  • yeah that wasn't eruption it was some Eric Johnson lol.. and there was some crazy train and everything..

  • Sounded very Cliffs of Dover at the beginning, right?

  • I fuckin love that guitar!!!!

    great

  • can somone explain the term sloppy to me im guessing its bad but this guy sounds really awesome

  • i have that guitar it has good sound

  • 当方もEVHを所有してます。素晴しいギターです^^

  • paul from rammstei uses this guitar too

  • hey dude, i'm playing guitar too and i'm also very sloppy but i thought your playing was great you're deffinitely way ahead of me so great work!

  • SUCKS!!! ONLY RIFFS

  • huh?

  • playd one of these for the first time at guitar center last night. it was a 94 and one of the purple ones..it is definitly a sick guitar

  • and im pretty sloppy too

  • it doenst matter if ur sloppy. some of greatest guitar players were sloppy but they made killer riffs

  • how much the guitar ??

  • Loving the sounds but, the guitar isnt really very good looking but fantastic playing

  • I agree, it kinda looks like a retarded strat.

  • lol :P

  • haha seems to me like an overweight telecaster.

no matter, still a great guitar. plays like a dream to me. rock on

  • Looks like an overweight les paul.

  • you did a good job man, nice touch.

  • Dude hes just demonstrating the guitar. Relax

  • I like the style of the guitar, but I like tone knobs. If I had the money, I'd love to have an Axis Pro.

  • Frankly, I was bored.

  • finally some pantera!

  • You're ace, don't worry. What's the name of the song that starts at 00:45?

  • That song is Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne

  • dude u are fucking awesome i a a purple ernie ball axis its a very good guitar. man post more videos. nice job

  • can you play a whole song?

  • dude it's a demo, if he can play that solo what do you think?!?!?

  • haha that was great :P

  • WAit, am at the guitar center?

  • how can you say that was sloppy, that was fcuking incredible man :D great guitar playing, very nice guitar wish i could find and get one :(

  • i like the way you have a word for all the sounds "to goose the front end", "cream out the sound a bit"

  • great playing dude...know your just having fun and your pretty good with your chops... Keep at it man, Rock On

  • gordo nefasto

  • man sloppy as hell bro!

  • overall ok...but i hope u kno ur playin the satriani shit WAY to fast fast well not that much but its prlly double speed

  • Ive had a EVH EBMM sinne 1992 - same as this on in the video and i would never sell it. Even though i never play it.

    JB

  • the wolfgang was made by peavey originally but then eddie left and took the name to fender, peavey rebranded it under the name "HP"

  • this is true, the wolfgang was originally peavey.

  • with the d tuna lol

  • it was originally made by Peavey.

  • SOMEONES GONNA SPIPE YOUR GUITAR!

  • crap

  • easy there broski.

  • wait a minute... I didn't say this was crap! hmmm... scary stuff

  • not bad man...you dont need excuses for that playing. Loved hearing some randy rhoads

  • You did just fine. It wasn't that sloppy.

  • I just bought EBMM EVH! great tone, feel and looks, tried Axis but the neck doesn't feel the same, EVH is more comfortable! Great instrument!

  • cliffs of dover in the beginning?

  • nice guitar

  • Nice

  • whats the difference between this and the peavy wolfgang? besides the brand?

  • d-tuna, arch top. may be more but thats all i can think of right off.

  • the top horn and pickups, quality the older peavey wolfgangs have a better quality then the Axis, but the Ernie Ball EVH guitars from the early 90s still take the cake for me.

  • You rocks dude. Good player, wish U a good continuation in guitar ;)

  • You got Game dude! I love my EVH! I just wish it wasnt a hardtail.

  • Cliffs of dover into Rubina into crazy train into hot for teacher

  • YOU MY FRIEND KICK ARSE AT GUITAR

    (favored)

  • that looks like an olp

  • Nice to see some SRV Love! Do you think this guitar sounds good when going from say Van Halen to the SRV stuff you played? I mean, is it versatile? And is the lack of a tone knob a problem, or is the tone in the volume nob?

  • For me personally, a lot of tone is in the way you attack the strings. SRV has a heavy attack and gets a lot of his tone from the neck pickup - that's how I approach it. Eddie is all about the bridge pickup and lots of thumb edge for everything. I never use the tone knob - I get more of my tonal nuances from my pick attack, thumb edge, and pickup position.

  • So mmaybe I'll trade my petrucci for an axis with the string thru instead of the licensed floyd.

  • That guitar sounds incredible. Nice pickin too. Why does the petrucci sound like fuzz and not this one?

  • Are you deaf? This clip doesn't make this guitar sound amazing. The Petrucci sounds like fuzz? I'm not even going to bother addressing that...

  • I own a petrucci so I can say what I want about it. You can tell very easily that the axis. Not to mention that I played one the same day I got the petrucci. I chose the petrucci mainly for the non locking trem and slimer neck. To me locking trems they are alot of bother, none the less music man guitars are really good quality and I know they offer non trem models. I just happen to like petrucci. And it does sound fuzzy to me. Must be the basswood.

  • you can tell very easily by this video that the axis is a very good guitar.

  • Or it could be that the Axis has way hotter pickups. Two custom DiMarzios, specific to the axis. Why does everyone assume all Music Man guitars are the same?!?

Anyway, I have an Axis. For the price, it's an amazing guitar. Has the sound of the high end PRS guitars, if not quite the build quality.

One more mild complaint: Liscensed floyd trem isn't as good mechanically as original floyd - fine tuners aren't as fine, and the blades are duller, which allows slippage over time.

  • Oh I've known for a long time that the original floyd is far better that the licensed because I have an old ltd which I hate but it has a licensed floyd. Do you think the Gotoh is better than the original floyd? I dont know because I've never messed with one. But I also have an old Fender HM strat that has a kahler trem. I got the guitar when I was a teenager and ove time I lost the locking nuts.

That makes since about the hotter dimarzios.

  • To continue, I fixed the trem issue on my axis: I installed an original Gotoh Floyd trem from an old Kramer Barretta I have. I did have to swap the spring claw hook, 'tho - cuz' the gotoh floyd was longer.

Let me say: this was a simple swap, and made a world of difference with fine tuning, the gotoh tuners are just w-a-y more accurate (smaller threads, I believe) and is made of finer materials.

  • Cool looking Axis

  • couldn't stand the weather! kick ass . Nice guitar man..and playing.

  • Thanks!

  • I think* someone is pointing at your guitar with a laser pointer.

  • No it's the Light from the camera Rec Cuz it has a red light when its rec

  • I someone is pointing at your guitar with a laser pointer.

  • Music man?

  • wth guitar skill has nothing to do with which guitar ur aloud to play...wth are you talking about no such thing as a guitar that ur not supposed to be playing my buddy just started playing and im teaching him on a gibson sg...its not like its a big deal its actually easier to learn and play on them

  • I love your playing, flahprius!!

  • Not sloppy, it's just your own style.

  • shutup are you sloppy
