Lots of people have been left with no choice but to use Vista and or have a old pc that need windows xp on it.

You have to use the keycode off your old computer case. Like a dell, Gateway, And HP.

do a clean install and then activate the windows over the internet if it lets you.

tell it 1 install only on the phone number 1 on phone.

Hey, I got a older hard drive... But its better than the one i have on my computer. They are the same types, so, I put the hard drive I wanted in my computer (it already has windows XP on it. But, when I start it up, I hit enter when it asks to start windows normally, then it restarts, what can I do to fix this or what is happening?

homeboy, buy a Mac. Then you just stick the OS X disks into the CD-ROM and install Leopard easily. You can run Windows XP in Parallels or VMWARE Fusion if you don't play high end games on PC. However, if you want to play high-end games, buy a Mac Pro tower with four cores and install Boot Camp in OS X Leopard. You won't have all those problems afterwards.

Remember That YOU MUST HAVE A BATTERY BACK A UPS TO FILTER YOUR COMPUTER AND OTHER 20TH CENTURY DEVICES FROM A POWER ZAP ATTACK AKA "LIGHTING, BROWN OUTS, AND ACTS OF NATURE" IF NOT YOUR THINGS WILL GET FRIED.

Please use battery backups on new TV's, Computers, printers, monitors and anything electronic... If you like it use a battery backup on it. Things will not get zapped as often probably never.

If the unit will not power on at all its probably the power supply that is damaged. Then average power supply will cost about 40 to 60 dollars for the part ...

You can buy a tester for your supply from local mom pop computer store if you like.

If it does not power on at all its the power supply. Might be more but normally that will fix it. If it got hit by lighting it might be the mother board or main board aka " PCB ".

Please use battery backups to avoid damage to your equipment from power surges.

One of my friends has messing around with my pc one day froze it..and like a idiot kept on pressing n holding the power button .. now when i turn on my pc the screen wont turn on it says.. no input signal or Monitor Status: Inactive... so what can i do besides take it to get it fixed?

Yes I think it was Optiplex series. It was a Dell that the side door slid off. Not the Dell's that have a hinged case. Its cool, all computer have basically the same to replace a hard drive.
