  • Some hell of a vid. THANKS. Ps not one junkie in sight (cancer of this country)

  • As an Aberdonian who emigrated to Canada in 1964 it was definitely a "flash of the past" watching this video! Another writer brought memories of "The Matt" on Sundays.....what a wonderful era to have been born to grow up in this beautiful city. I came back in 1965 from Canada to be married at St. Clements Church and after many visits, hope to return soon. Thank God for memories and people who take the time to put together videos of this very special place.

    "Aiberdeenquine"

  • amazing, it's like something out of a movie, can not believe how much has changed

  • Nobody drunk?

  • Simply fantastic!

  • I can remember walking up union st on a sunday night ,it was called the ""The Matt""" teenagers were shoulder to shoulder !!!! met a few good looking girls too!!!! met my Wife in the Beach ballroom,, in 1953,, those were the good old days ,,,,,

  • I was born here in 1952 and this brings warm memories of the times my mother took me around town, shopping and going to great tea shops with nice cakes:) Bless her I miss her very much:(

  • Jimbo - you are a hero! Thanks for the wonderful films of Aberdeen.

  • What a brilliant video!

It was nice seeing Provost Skene's House with the view through to Marshall College before that monstrous St Nicholas House was put up!

  • brilliant video, thanks. Love seeing her back in the day. Aberdeen was/is a beautiful city, the council has a lot to answer for.

  • Or should I say Peterhead

  • There is a good DVD out called Siver City and North East Corner all about Aberdeen in the 50's--and Paterhead earlier

  • Excellent. Being born in 1986 I missed all this. Looking at videos / photos of Aberdeen pre-1980 makes me angry at how nice the city centre used to look. The amount of amazing old buildings now gone. Union Street has no soul these days, it's a shame

  • All amazingly familiar! Hard to believe that we would be living there in the 60's. S.

  • Brilliant those were the days

  • amazing

  • Fabulous! Loved every second of this!

  • This is a great film. Is there any more?

  • ...a gem

  • Amazing footage of The Deen. Great to see this

  • really nice vid

  • Thanks for uploading this, great to see pedestrians were also dodging traffic in Union Street back then. Did they really push sections of boats along the road in carties - wow ?
