  • now thats a story! great catch man i have a friend thats done the same thing on my boat while we were jigging up some striped bass out by block island, I assume that this was much harder to pull off than what we had to do but still this turns into a great table story for years to come

  • KEEP PRACTICING, JUST A SMALL TUNA.

  • whats the best bait for catching tuna at this location?

  • @jdboy116 normally they will hit a trolled lure, or sometimes you can jig them

  • @28express ok thanks

  • where was this? i am a big fluke fisherman and never caught a tuna. i have caught a 160 lb shark but not a tuna. pleas tell me where this was and when.

  • @pt109lover 10 miles S/E of Fire Island inlet, Long Island NY summer 2006

  • how in the world did u manage this? lol nice fish bro

  • It took about 45 min to land the fish, it just about emptied the reel on every run

  • What kinda reel was that?

  • Abu-Garcia 5600 baitcaster with 15# test line

  • We were fishing for Fluke, I had a 4oz ball jig with a strip of squid on it

  • nicely done, actually quite common that other larger fish tend to bite on fluke rigs haha, ive caught a 35pound striper on a similar setup you have, its a rush knowing a fish 25+ pounds larger than you expect is on the line! great fish bud

  • suprising dat i kaught a yellow fin in san luis pass tx n in way neer a bridge i was chest deep in water n diz lil bastards r delicious n ken fight but in shore tuna fishing 4 me n nice fish

  • How do you catch a tuna when your going for fluke ? What size hook you using ?

  • We often get little ones like that inshore, further off we get some larger fish 100-200 pounds, but nothing like the size fish in your area.

  • is that the common size for bluefin around those parts? i fish them commercially on the east coast (p.e.i) a small bluefin down here is 400-500 pds common size is 700-900

  • god i go for tuna at the linda, weather buoy, and some other places and barely ever catch them. i like those apples

  • 48 yrs ago i cought 1970 pound bluefin in North C

  • Fish was caught in 70' of water about 2 miles south of Ocean Beach Fire Island NY.

  • is this on the north side or the south side?

  • Now, that's how you whip a tuna on light tackle. Great job.

  • nice i'd love to catch bluefin while im tuna fishing =/ lucky haha well nice job

  • We were off Long Island, NY fishing for fluke (summer flounder). The reel had #15 test on it and the fish was snagged on the side of it's head, that's why it took so long to land.

  • cool what state wher you in . I saw a real small one on the norma k once . abouth 7 year ago fluke-in
