now thats a story! great catch man i have a friend thats done the same thing on my boat while we were jigging up some striped bass out by block island, I assume that this was much harder to pull off than what we had to do but still this turns into a great table story for years to come
where was this? i am a big fluke fisherman and never caught a tuna. i have caught a 160 lb shark but not a tuna. pleas tell me where this was and when.
nicely done, actually quite common that other larger fish tend to bite on fluke rigs haha, ive caught a 35pound striper on a similar setup you have, its a rush knowing a fish 25+ pounds larger than you expect is on the line! great fish bud
suprising dat i kaught a yellow fin in san luis pass tx n in way neer a bridge i was chest deep in water n diz lil bastards r delicious n ken fight but in shore tuna fishing 4 me n nice fish
is that the common size for bluefin around those parts? i fish them commercially on the east coast (p.e.i) a small bluefin down here is 400-500 pds common size is 700-900
We were off Long Island, NY fishing for fluke (summer flounder). The reel had #15 test on it and the fish was snagged on the side of it's head, that's why it took so long to land.

How do you catch a tuna when your going for fluke ? What size hook you using ?
SearayRob68 2 years ago
We often get little ones like that inshore, further off we get some larger fish 100-200 pounds, but nothing like the size fish in your area.
