Paid $2499 for a brand new Kuro 111fd about 2 years ago when pioneer announced they won't renew the line. 6th ave electronics in Long Island NY was trying to get rid of them to make room for the new 2010 LCD tv's. Little did they know that the kuro would still be the best TV out there 2 years later. Original price for the TV was $4999. TV still looks amazing
Im glad pioneer sold the patents to panasonic for the kuro now its back as the panasonic vierra vt25. Yes the Kuro is back and pretty reasonable pricing check it out 65" $4500(yeah baby)
I was looking at getting a Kuro but settled for a Samsung B7000 LED. It's a great TV, but the Kuro is the one to aim for, if you can afford the space, purchase price and electricity bills. Enjoy your Kuro. You lucky bastards. :)
It's a shame that Pioneer have pulled out of making plasma screens, earlier this year. I really liked the 60" Kuro They were the best for black levels etc.
Which make will be the best in the future?
I'm keen on the new, ultra thin LED screens by Samsung. And I'm really looking forward to the new oled Tvs that will be coming out in the future. Has anyone got any info on these? Like when, and what size screens?
This TV is outstanding, I use Pure mode for movies and Optimum for Digital Graphics/Animated movies. Game mode for Video games. I only wish there was more info that could be displayed for OTA HD material and a more options for PIP. There are basically no displays on the market that can beat the blacks of a Kuro. Out of the box picture is Outstanding.
i mean when i got mine, when i was in the store and its was on display with other 50 or 60 tvs and this just stand out of everything you know, its the best

@skillz720 The vt25 is only as dark as the 8g kuro and the black level raises
