@tomasterrizzano the only thing comparable I would assume would be a synth guitar pedal, roland makes a nice unit, not sure on the harmonizer built in but I am sure you can have a string sound set and octave higher than the guitar. Nothing is cheap tho.
It may not be as high in sound quality (ok, it won't be) but the same basic effect can be found using the Octoverb setting on a Line 6 Verbzilla, M9 or M13.
It's a reverb with an octave up on the wet portion of the signal.
good tone man, sounds great. I got to get me 1 of these eventides they would greatly round my tone, for my transistions i will say though live it sounds like it would be way toooo loud ? please comment on this i wouldnt know... i dont have one lol
Everyone said it was 'unbarable' live. Yes it was way too loud, too much for the novice listeners. If you know what you're hearing, like we do, we love the unit. People want a loud tube amp and that's about all they understand. When it comes to making noise and vibing on your tones, I think the Eventide was #1, best of all units you could have.
that glitter verb sounds fuckin insane. i have a g-major and a g-force from tc electronics, you think i could pull anything like this off. probably not, huh
The clean sound is recorded direct with no speakers. Any amp or speakers I use adds breakup and tube tone. That's a nice tone but the cleanest clean I could come up with was always 'direct' recorded, no speakers, no amp. All low voltage stuff. Preamp> Eventide> RECORD.
that would never work for recording a good overdrive sound. you need the speakers and power amp tubes to give it actual "tone". then mic it and so on. recording in overdrive is a whole different book.
After so many years, you'd think I could pull this one off! But, hey, it's Randy and being expressive sometimes leads to error. You right... so I did an actual classical cover of it on my 420 page.
Still the Eventide needs some type of amplification. The MP-1 is in Solid State mode, just for crystal clear cleans. The tube clean is a little dirty.
Sound hasn't improved much over the years. Old Eventides sound good too. Technically however, the 7600 is beyond the rest. It has become easier to use, faster, and thoroughly programmed with great presets. However, the Orville is dual proc, this will let you operate 2 CPUs (2 diff presets) and fade between them, or interact by your design. Programming the Orville is harder, but it will be doing more. I would likely get the Orville.
It's a mix, Dee is played twice and Woman in Chains (Tears for Fears). At the end I made up a couple of chord phrases - what ever seemed nice at the time. Thanks.
Great stuff - are you using the 8000 or the eclipse? is there a floor board you can use wiht it for live stuff? Can you preset sounds in a specific order? thanks!
Thanks, this is the 7500 (little brother to the Orville). Any MIDI pedal board will work. I have an ART X-15 from way back, works perfect. Program presets and store in logical 1-200 order, your choosing. Managing presets, a breeze. Dump to computer, computer programming using VSIG - powerful, flexible.
Correct. In the 80s they had released a 3000 series in several flavors. In the 90s they had released the 4000 series, also if flavors. In 2K they released the 7000s. (no 5 or 6K series) and then released the 8000 recently. The baby brother to the 8000 is the 7600. eBay has 3 and 4 series every week, the 7s are uncommon right now (in use) and the 8s are expensive.
You end up with TC Electronics delays, Lexicon reverbs, or an Eventide Eclipse. Below 1K, consider the pedals. For pedals I would recommend Holy Grail, Eventide Stereo Delay, or other, Flanger, Wah, Chorus. The Eventide does all of this, so the Eclipse is close to same price as pedals, but smokes em. The Eclipse will handle loads of programs, the pedals will not. This is recorded direct (most of my stuff is direct)
Wow how breathtaking.

Could you do that with an eclipse, too? Or are those kin of effects just in this harmonizer?

It's just a pitch shifted delay. The G-Force should be able to do something as enjoyable.
Eventual421 2 years ago
i can never figure out the pitchshifter on the g force, i'm either too stupid or not patient enough. maybe both. lol

Do you know of some rack similar to the eventide but cheaper?
Eventide is so expensive, I found out your vids beacuse I wanted a orange ad30 htc and now I want an Eventide and a ad30.
Is this vid just the eventide recorded directly or goes to an amp/stack miced?
