I do not like his C major, but I heard him playing the D Major here in Mexico, and the D major was awesome !!!!

One of the world's greatest modern cellists, but the cadenza sounds like a cross between Villa Lobos and Pagannini. It depends upon artistic licence as to how one plays it - Wispelwey is brilliant but I wonder if Haydn would recognise it as his music? Thanks for posting it for comparison. I still prefer my young Hungarian cellist's interpretation.

@mspg2 who cares what Haydn would think? He's dead. but if you want to go there, i believe Haydn would love what Wispelwey does with the coda. I think Haydn would love modern classical. Unlike Mozart, Haydn had a more organic style of writing.

Exagerado en que sentido?? A mi honestamente me parece que su interpretacion encuadra exelentemente en el estilo y contexto de esta pieza musical. Sobre todo la articulacion de la mano derecha, que es extraordinaria!
