Does the M1 need and adapter attached to the end of the barrel to hold enough gas in to cycle the weapon? Or is there a valve allowing the gas to be shut off and the action worked by hand?
Not the best firing party I've seen.. you need to look at 8th and I A Co. 2nd Platoon back in 81-84.. then you will see the best.. Oh wait.. we didn't have the neat small video cams back then..
they are loaded before we step off then we put our gloves back on and start the ceremony. Most the time the guns don't need gun oil because M1's work amazing and without jams unlike M16's sadly..

Their firing party is just like the Army which is quick and sharp. The Air Force is lot slower and complicated but it's a whole lot more ceremonial though.
@maldenqb01 I've seen a bunch of 21 gun salutes from different services,and I think it all depends on how good the team of 7 guys they use for that ceremony. this video is obviously not the best to see,I've seen the army's one and they are pretty sharp and my guess is bcuz that was a good set of team because I've seen some sloppy ones too, the navy, as I've said it all depends on the people they pick, same as air force,I've seen some pretty sharp gun salutes & I've seen some sloppy ones too

I was in 2nd from 00 to 03. Our count was a little slower than that. We also did and pull for the trigger pull.

Hooah! I am part of the 54th honor guard. we do a waay better firing party than the corps. they have a good drill team though.
