The music was always intended to be awful. I am now planning a new version with different woods and a more dramatic pianist. I think I will use the old film night theme (Barry Norman), but I don't know what it is called. If anybody can suggest a means of creating the music, please let me know.
Thank you for your support, and yes they can be very difficult to build.
Okay, I'm not gonna lie, the music is aweful, but I'de like to see SOME try to make a fully functioning automaton, I've seen soe made and I couldn't even begin to try, so stop hating! It takes time and patience to make these things, though next time, perhapse a nice melody for the music part?
@sk8raven Thanks for the e-mail. I don't know of any people who teach automata. I just started and deveoped from there. The trick is to work backwards, from the action, of the figures, to the mechanism to create the movement. There are several websites that shows the mechanics "flying pig" for ex. The enjoyment is working out how to do it, so think of a simple design first and then have a go. I can help you if you need it.
Lovely work but couldn't you combine a little mechanical music module into the mechanism, a push button electronic sound module is rather incongruous?
thanks for the comment. This was my second automata, and I quite liked the awful piono music. I am now planning a second version, which will have an automatic sound track.
