the chassis is based on the impreza . IF this is released by subaru as the 2012 impreza STi awd i will jump on this the very second its at the dealership.
theres lots of 500whp subies... this car is just what the JDM community needs, affordable RWD front engine performance. i think a 2.0L flat four is perfect. this is what Ive been waiting for... the genesis coupe is a good platform but im never going to drive a korean piece of crap.
I hope Toyota designs the engine and not Subaru. I also hope it has a high rev engine like the modern equiv. of the 4age 20v, one of the best 4 bangers in history. Not to knock boxers, I actually own an Impreza but the heart and soul of the ae86 was the I-4 IMO.
Yup the Hatchi Roku is a legend and still is to this day. It's funny though, people confuse this to be the 8th gen Celica. I've looked everywhere and seen that people are already claiming that this is the concept celica, it's called an FT-86...hello! 86, uh duh? Just like its popular great great grandpa, they both share the 86. I can't wait to see this one out...to bad its named under subaru in the states...oh well can always JDM it to Toyota.
Right, originals would be lighter as it seems they actually may have carbon fiber in their construction. While I doubt the carbon fiber makes it to production, if you want to chrome up your FT-86, go for it, but then again, if you have a desire to do that, you might want to consider another vehicle.
this isnt the toyota/subaru coupe car at all! this is a concept coupe from toyota, they might not even be makin the subaru one anymore due to financial problems!

It's going to be both a Toyota and a Subaru here in the US according to MotorTrend.

But it will be sold by Subaru. I read that somewhere.

Chrome wheels would make it look much better! Same wheels but chrome...i guess the originals are lighter for performance.
