I'm going to see if I get trashed for what I say. :D Maybe the US shouldn't have gotten involved at all. Our government only supported the project half-assed which was part of the failure of the mission. But I cannot agree with saying that the warlords should have remained in place. I cannot condone the death of thousands of people. So, it was a huge mess that really, we needed more help from around the world to do a good job. (Not just Pakistan!)

America also gets a lot of help with combat from the UK, which is probably one of if not the best army in the world for weapons and tactics. But it ain't small enough to be really good so they share knowledge with the UN and Nato forces.

Are you on crack? Or perhaps khut? The US army is one of, if not THE, best in the world. Have you ever seen an AC-130 gunship in flight? Or an M1A1 Abrams in battle? Or even a full company of US Marines in action? In Somalia, it was a tiny group of Rangers and Delta force, backed by the 10th Mountain Infantry. In the book Black Hawk Down, Mark Bowden did his research in Somalia, and spoke with Somalis involved in the fight, who said that they were taught AA tactics for use with RPGs by outside soldiers. And if the army collapsed, how could any training offered by them be at all effective?
