hey I got a McGaughy's on my 04 1500, never got it aligned and now that I do a ton of drivin for my current job the insides of my front tires got chewed up. I went to belle tire to get it aligned but they said they couldnt do it because its lowered. did you get any extra parts to allow alignment? or did you have to get extra work done? idk what to do.
@GetToDaChoppa50 Sounds like the lied to you man. I brought it over to a friend of mine's shop and they aligned it. I mean, he told me they couldn't get it perfect because of the lowering kit, but they got it as close as they could.
@jordan21210 ah, probably didnt want any liability or whatever. I did call McGaughy's and the guy I spoke with said just to take it to a different shop since I got the whole kit with springs it should be able to be aligned, I tried some other places but they are all so busy I'll keep trying thanks for the reply sweet truck
@GetToDaChoppa50 Yeah, most likely. Like they said, try another shop. And no problem man, I enjoy helping others even though I don't have the truck anymore. Most people with these vids never respond to comments.
@jordan21210 yeah I'm about to go to a shop that specializes in big tires and custom suspension hopefully it'll be a wrap after I visit them. amen to responding, thanks again I just didnt know if I would need extra parts or not.
@musicaddict333 I had a KRC218 cam (too big, fyi). The Comp 268 is a great cam, and you are correct...it helps to up the gear ratio. I went from a 3.92 to 4.56s. With a 268 though, I would at least get 4.10s...I actually think that is the best option for that cam.
@LeadSlinger89 Thanks man. Wish I could, but these new Eagle Hemi engines are harder to cam with the VVT and all. Plus I will probably be trading my dad my new 2011 Ram for his 2009 SRT8 Challenger. So I'll get to play with a car instead lol.
@Houstonkiller713 Cam was too big so it never ran too fast. Best time was a 14.7 in the 1.4 with a cutout, headers, tuner, intake, and 3.92 gears. Not sure about 0-60.
@range455 It's the stock paint, called Graphite Metallic and was only available on 2003 and 2004 Rams. They changed it to Mineral Grey in 2005. Mineral Grey is a bit lighter in color compared to Graphite.
@raminjd It drove ok with the cam. Once the tune was decent (done by Hemifever, aka Sean Powell, using SCT handheld) it drove much better. At first it would stall a good bit, but after it drove relatively normal. I had a very big cam though, it was actually too big and was the root of a lot of my problems. If you go with something, say like a 216/220 or anything smaller...you won't have any issues with drivability. My cam was a 219/224.
@rodolfoc21 It had AEM longtube headers, no cats, dual 2.5" electric cutouts, dual in/out 2.5" pypes performance muffler dumped in front of the rear axle.
@Jordan21210 thanks man, yeah I'll probably hold off on the cam then and just try other stuff like cold air and I think I can use the supership now on my truck. I like your ride though man it's nice!
@spauley22 just depends man. cams for the 4.7 are a little harder to come by and are a little more expensive because the 4.7 is OHC. but i've heard 4.7 cams are easier to install than 5.7 cams. if you can do the install yourself, or have someone help you...you could probably install them for anywhere from 600-1000.
@01transamguy yeah so far so good...it sounds amazing. no good track numbers yet, but i just put in a stall and gears. so some times should be coming up in the winter.
What a waste of a pickup.
