The salesman is also a spoof of a popular radio character who'd do the "There's no one home I hope I hope" bit.

iam a minority but how is this racist ? i think some people cant take a joke.... i was at work and the billing department has alot of minorities .. We were late on some work n the supervisor said " YOU PEOPLE ARE LAZY DO YOUR WORK" i didnt take it wrong because he ment you people as the billing department. all my other co workers were mad.... lol idk people think everything is racist....

the fact that there are people sitting here trying to rationalize the clearly racist images of this cartoon is the same reason it is not on tv anymore. it is ABSOLUTELY true that blacks display a great deal of racism towards other races AND each other but that does not justify this kind of portrayal. this is nothing more than a menstrual show, a comedic version of blackface or anything of the sort. anyone who is still having trouble seeing the issue here can message me and lose their argument.

@willskate4pye I still beg to differ. The word "menstrual" is in reference to a woman's montly period, as in menstrual cycle. The correct word referring to blackface performers is minstrel. Please look these two words up in a dictionary. Both words sound the same when pronounced but have two completely different meanings. Now who's the ignorant one? Don't think it's me...

you know what you are actually right. i concede to a spelling error, glad that's what you decided to focus on. however, to refer to this cartoon as "silly" might have something to do with your own ideologies; this is a matter of principle. trying to explain it to the average white male is impossible and arbitrary though and i am not about to try nor am i am not "truly ignorant" for making generalizations. you my friend are a lost cause.

Yes I regard this cartoon as silly and the reason for this is that I remember as a child seeing this on Saturday morning cartoons decades ago and finding it as silly and funny. But we do live in a time of political correctness now where we should not must not offend anyone of a particular racial group. Hope you can understand that.

Among the "Censored 11," I think the other Friz Freleng cartoons, "Goldilocks & The Jivin' Bears," "Clean Pastures," and "Sunday-Go-To-Meetin' Time" are really great stuff......real masterpieces among musical cartoons.

This is interesting. I've been watching the Censored Eleven today partially wondering if this was one of them because somehow I have a VHS of this grouped with a Mutt and Jeff cartoon along with a bunch of other cartoons.
