  • hes sound good reading a bus schedule

  • This is the song that made me a Tom Waits lover forever. It strings every feeling in my body to sing with it. I would love to be in New Orleans with Tom Waits sharing a drink and singing... I can see that in my dreams!

  • I miss my house in NOLA that Katrina ate :(

  • Talent is like the marksman who hits a target which others cannot reach; genius is like the marksman who hits a target, as far as which others cannot even see.

  • Longing and yearning never felt so good...

  • This song just doesn't age even it it is so simple.

  • My all time favorite...

  • ...so much better than the album version...

In fact, the whole Rockpalast show was better than their studio counterparts

  • I fell in love with this tune many years ago. I lived on Burgundy St. in the Quarter for a long time and the memories this number brings back seem endless to me. I've been gone from New Orleans for some time now and as so the golden times that once were. A VERY BIG THANKS TOM !

  • This comment is dedicated to any pristine moment, occuring in any of the great cities of the world, for a brief passage of time between two conscious people;

Julie, if only I could allow myself to say that I miss you dearly.

  • I miss Maggie.

  • I miss my amputated left leg.

  • I miss my precious daughter, Brooke.

  • @doretgar I got acquired to him pretty quick.XD I'm 17 years old, and I can't say I've ever listened to a more talented artist. His vocals and lyrics and style are all just... so perfectly imperfect.

  • Try to listen other music than mtv, read some real books, open you eyes to the World, and perhaps one day you will understand that Tom Waits is a genious...

  • @mochochato read some real books and one day you will be able to spell genius, but I completely agree with you!

  • And isn't he such a beautiful man? I adore his face

  • him and a piano...nothing else is needed if you want to know what perfection is.

  • absolute perfection!!!!!!!

  • If Tom played this song for New Orleans after the disaster, there's no doubt he'd have raised thousands... A beautiful song by an amazing artist.

  • Marvellous. The best rendition of this I've heard.
