  • As in Russia:)

  • i live right by the richfield wi rail line. When i go there i often lay rail spikes on the tracks and watch the train run over them. When the train passes, they will be flat and very hot to the touch

  • Great video, love it!

  • Power of the diesel :))))

  • I LOVE U.P. JUNK!

  • A good movie with trains is "Unstoppable"

  • Very nice video thanks for posting!

  • i like how the railroad croosing signs shadow is on the train.

  • One of the better horns of today.

  • 天ㄚ~~~怎麼這麼長~~~

  • wow they are smoking bad. Needs a tune up

  • @megs905 That isn't bad, thats actually normal for an SD40-2.

  • Great find! My only wish is that the ditch lights would have been flashing.

  • @ubcs109 They don't flash all the time; our CN doesn't do it.

  • Is this the first video you uploaded?

  • @UltraJoosh This and the Friesland / Dalton Wig-Wag videos were all uploaded on the same day. The wig wag videos were taken two years prior with my old camcorder. They're the first train videos I ever took (hence, no tripod and the date stamp is on). This was the first video I ever took with a tripod (which I kick at 0:44) and the first video I took with my second camcorder. I'm on my third camcorder now.

  • @Brenton81 Oh. So you uploaded all three on the same day?

  • @UltraJoosh Correct.

  • love SD40-2

  • Nothin ya hate to have in your train more than empty flats.

  • cool vid those units looked like 38s or40s they are gitten rare

  • loud horn!he sure is goeing fast great vid!!

  • What does it mean on the loadspeaker 63.2 detector?

  • That's a defect detector. It checks the train for sticking brakes, hotboxes, dragging equipent and such. If it finds a problem, it will broadcast a notification so the train can be stopped and the problem corrected.

  • Lately, when you see three gp 40's latched up like that it's either for a local or doing yard work...I be hard press to tell what the last time I saw a local with an 83 car count....I knew the UP was storing units, but it looks like the roundhouse had to go scrounging for this power!

  • What would the gross weight have been of these 83 wagons ??

  • Troet-troet... very good! 5***** from north Germany!!!

  • Love those SD40-2's! And the graffitti is an abomination!

  • bad ass k3la =)

  • i just like seeing trains passing by. it puts you in a good mood! :)

  • i can tell that you like trains alot

so what do you think about graffiti on them?

  • I like trains to, and although graffiti is an illegal act, it , in my opinion, adds some interest, and color to the trains.

  • cool radio! its nice and cool vid! take care

  • I also love astronomy i'm getting a 12 Inch Meade LX200 Classic pretty soon how many objects are on that thing i think it came out in 2000?? Can you make new discoveries with it???

  • I live in green oaks illinois and there are three tracks in different directions here they are West,South and East.

  • I can't stand freight trains i live pretty much in the middle of railroad city i hear them all the time with there loud engines and horns!!!!!!

  • Where is the middle of "railroad city?"

  • Dunellen,NJ Has many trains,It's Called "The Railroad Town"!

  • LOL they also have Freight/Train horns that you can strap to your car. :P

  • I love those good ol sd40's.

  • i wonder wether there was any hobos in it hitching a lift?? the spped its going i wouldnt be surpirsed!

  • The detector never gave a "No defects" message or the axel count.

  • When the train starts to go over the detector, it goes off saying only the detector mile post. They used to say the milepost, then "Detector working". After the train crosses, then it gives out all the info.

  • This detector does give out a final message. I shut off my scanner after it gave out the intinal read out because I didn't think you'd be able to make it out over the sound of the train.

  • that train is going fast.

  • Hey check my Train video out. Awsome one, eh? Nice train!

  • Standar procedure...LONG LONG SHORT LONG

  • you got that from MS train sim

  • In response to below: have you ever driven a train, and hit someone? I have. The thing was, it was at a 'silent crossing' because of you people who want no horns, because you can't deal with the sound of a train horn. Here's something to consider. No horn raises the chance of a car being hit 615% at a railroad crossing. If you don't like the horn, don't live near the goddamn tracks. Because when you hit a person, it's the nastiest and most devastating thing in the world.

  • All I am saying is that you got to be pretty goddamn STUPID to not look both ways before crossing the tracks.

  • I dont understand train horns... can some one explain why they need to blow the horn? You'd have to be deaf to not hear one of them coming without holding the horn, and even if your deaf you can still FEEL the ground shake. Heres to outlawing the horns on trains and leaving the idiots who dont look both ways to die on the tracks....

  • Shutup, you're one of those whiners that complained that the train horns were too loud, I bet. Well, guess what, bub? they are NECESSARY to avoid being hit by the trains which usually take a mile or more to come to a complete stop. Which would you rather want? a proper warning in the form of a horn, or a silent stop with no horn & risk your family or friends being run over by a train? the choice is yours.

  • I don't know why you feel sympathy for people who do die on the tracks because ITS THEIR OWN FAULT. Are they not even smart enough to look yet alone FEEL and realize a train is rumbling towards them? It makes me so goddam angry every time a horn blows because it reminds me of all the dumbshits that have no sense of self-awareness. Everyone else is punished because of a few dim-witted folks.

  • Amazing video.

  • cool vid thanks for posting

  • Great video! A gateless crossing on a Union Pacific line! I think those are rare to find anymore, especially on a Union Pacific line.

  • 8" light and mechanical bell. The way all just the way all crossings should be. Great job

  • Actually I think that's a 12x20 signal (12" lights with a 20" background). But good try. Then again it could be a 12x24.

  • They're 12x20 with LEDs in them.

  • what was that talking mic?

  • That's a defect detector. It automatically checks the train for things like dragging equipment, sticking brakes, hotboxes, etc....

  • All those C&NW covered hoppers...

  • nice vid

  • wow, this is a cool video. i hope to see more
